I.D. Wheels on Multimatic Car?
#1
Hello, First post here.
I have a Perf. White on order (see Sig)
I plan to do a clone of this car. Anyone else doing this?
http://bradbarnett.net/mustangs/conc...racing05/2.jpg
My wife fell in love with it when we watched the Discovery Channel show on the buildup.
I wanted Black, but I can get approval of lots more Mod spending if I
do the car she likes, so White it is! (White was my second chioce anyway, don't tell her!)
I will start with the appearance and suspension mods, then an engine build or swap to a 5.0 4V to complete the transformation in a year or so.
I'm working on wheels and tires first.
Anyone have info on the wheels on this car?
Any estimates on the diameter? I think they look like 18", or 19"?
I've searched Tire Rack, and Discount Tire sites with no luck.
Any other good places to search?
Anxiously waiting for Ford to get these cars produced like lots of others here.
Geez, they built over 600.000 Mustangs back in 1966 MY!
This site is an awesome resource!
Thanks for any info!

I don't know for sure how wide they are but I can tell you mine has 285's on the rear and those make mine look small by comparison. I was thinking maybe 315's? Anyone find out yet?

Unfortunately I still have not found any info on what wheels those are. I would say they are 18" but no idea on the width. I will continue searching and hopefully stumble into something.

I think the tires are bigger than 315's and the wheels look like 12" or so. Would be interesting to see what they had to do to get them in there as I believe 295 tires are about as big as the '05 handles.

[attachmentid=14631]Here is a Picture of the rear tires on the car while it was under development, but the picture of the car on the track (in the original post) looks like the tires are wider.

No Prob, I have been wondering that same thing but havent thought about them in a while. I think those and the mesh style on the other ford racing car are some of the best loking wheels, I am sure they are expensive as all get out though.

12"? Didn't know they made wheels that small for a mustang.
Still have found nothing more on the car so far.![Frown](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
