How to remove GT fender badges?
My wife's vert is being built this week and will be taking the day off work when it arrives to do the mods. Just wanted to know what I was to encounter when I go to remove the GT badges on the fenders. Are they just applied with adhesive foam tape or are there speed nuts on the back that will require me to remove the fender well or something entirely different?
Any info will greatly reduce my time and frustration. Thanks! :worship:

Being that I had to have my GT fender emblems replaced when I had my front fenders repainted due to scratches, I can tell you that there are three holes drilled into the fender for the emblems as well as an adhesive on the back of the emblem. My body shop got them off with no damage to the paint by using pliers wrapped in cloth. Just take it slow and be patient. You don't want the emblem to snap back and whack the paint.
May I ask why you're removing the GT emblems? Just curious.

EK waste of time. tri-bar will not cover holes, if the stripe is a sticker it peel off after 10 washes. save your money.

I have personally done this myself and I used fishing line to cut through the foam adhesive tape. It came off very easy. After cutting through the tape and removing the emblem I used a plastic putty knife to peel off the rest of the tape. There are two mounting holes that are use to align the GT badge and I used the top one to put on the Tri-bar. The other three pins on the Tri-bar I cut off with a dremmel. I bought some 3-M double back tape to mount the Tri-bar. I have pictures of the install if you need them. You can see it here -- http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?showtopic=22216

Please don't post information on which you have no idea what you are talking about. First of all, the tribar pony will cover the stock holes for the GT emblem. I know this because I replaced my GT emblems with tribar ponies, and they did indeed cover the holes. And secondly, if you get a good quality vinyl side stripe (i.e. from graphic express) it will not peel off after 100 washes, much less 10. I have a side stripe from graphic express and have washed my car close to fifty times and it looks as good as it did the day I installed it. The vinyl will last you 3-4 years minimum as long as you be careful to scrub parallel to the edge.
Hey Eric, check the link below. I changed my GT emblems and the link explains how easy it was and how I did it. Very simple job took less than 20 minutes.

Yeah, there's only 2 holes. Here's a diagram of where they are (the GT emblems are traced over them so you can see how they're aligned) and what your concept will look like after it's done. And yes, the Tri-Bar will fit over the holes nicely.
Mark.

I used a hair dryer and got them hot, along with using fishing line to cut the foam. Came off great and the emblem's are still mint. There are two hole's like the diagram above and not three. I used some Goo-Gone for the left over addhesieve/foam came right off.
