How long in shop for new Hood Install?

How long did you guys have to leave your cars in the shop to have a new hood prepped, painted, and installed? I'm having a TruFiber GTS-1 done, and it's been 1 week. So far the shop has started preping only the bottom side of the hood. They haven't fitted the hood to the car yet. What has your experiences been?

I'm hoping the hood does fit. I'd hate to have the hood painted, and then they tell me it's too warped to install. I'm trusting the shop though. I know they do great work. At least on accident repairs.

Before they are working on your hood, I would have them test fit the hood first. You dont want them to work on the hood and then it has fitment issue, beside I dont think any manufacturer will replace after you worked on the hood. I would call them on monday and ask them to test fit it.........

I'm wondering if I'm being to concerned with the experience and workmanship of the shop. If the the hood is completed without test fitting it first (worst case), would a customizing specialty shop be willing to work with the hood and re-fit and re-finish it?

The hood should be test fit before ANY work is done on it. That said, a couple weeks to a month is not out of the question for all the glass work, finish work, paint etc. They do not need your car the whole time. After test fit, they can put your old hood back on until the prep and paint is done then they would want your car for a day to get it fitted and aligned.
