So how'd you cover the holes? Red tape??

I used several layers of duct tape under the holes, then cut small circles of the red Scotch Decorate/repair tape.

Clean car, looks nice. Make sure your duct tape doesn't leak.....

Dude, that's about as redneck as it gets... but it I love it. It works, and looks fine too. I'd consider looking around for a few small plugs for the holes, and painting them red. I wouldn't want that duct tape to break down under the heat (and it will) and let water in your trunk.

home depot and lowes carry some plugs that many people with Sn95's used to delete their spoilers. Might want to check that out. Looks good from what I can see, though. I'd just be worried about the tape eventually leaking.

I used the same materials on my previous cars and they never leaked. The red tape is heavy duty which keeps the water out as well.

As far as redneck, I don't plan on this being permanent. The pics don't do it justice. If you saw it in person you'd be impressed with the work.

I too did my own spoiler delete on my 96GT (5 years ago). Also loved the improved rearview.

I will definitely order with the spoiler delete. Very few dealers order spoiler delete GTs. If they did, I probably would have already found one with the options and I wanted, and gotten it off a local lot.

Isn`t the spoiler worth some downforce at high speed ? I am glued to the hiway whenever I open it up, 90mph+. Wouldn`t want to lose that.

Absolutely minimal, at best. It's 99% cosmetic, but please let's not go down the path of beating this horse again.

Do you still have the '96 and if so how has it held up? Also what did you use to plug the holes?

Vermillion98 posted pics of his and he used some plastic plugs from Home Depot. I'd really like to see close-ups if anyone has done this and can post any pics.

Personally, I don't think it's a Mustang without the spoiler. But that's just me.

As fas as the removal job... it looks great! Nice and clean!

The traffic flow around here goes 80mph+, so mine feels glued at passing speeds.
Oh wait, my spoiler is on my garage wall.
Spoiler is not in the airstream, it would have to be much higher to do anything.
