Hood pins for Trufiber GTR hood

Well its Christmas time again and I am going to get the new Trufiber GTR hood. I am looking to add hood pins to the hood and was wondering if anyone could tell me which hood pins would work best w/o having to be raised w/ an extra bolt. I like the 64.95 hood pins on the Shelby website but if anyone knows of any hood pins that look the same as those and are cheaper and will work w/ that hood I am open to any suggestions.

Not right now. I haven't ordered it yet. I was waiting on the response I got about the hood pins. I am having the hood delivered to my body shop and wanted to order the hood pins first once I figured out once I figured out which ones didn't need to be modified. Is the website you got yours from Stillenmotorsports.com?

I was reading some other posts and it seems that a 5 inch pin is required for the S197 hoods. Does that sound right to you guys.

I like the Aerocatch ones. Definately not cheaper than the Shelby though.

I looked around last night and decided on the torison style hood pins from Shelby Automotive. I just bought those b/c they were specifically for the S197 and hopefully won't have to be modified. They were double the rest but I probably won't ever own a Shelby, so I can at least say I've got his hood pins. Just kidding. Now I am going to order the hood. If everything goes well I will have the hood and pins done by the 1st week of the year. As soon as I am done I will post pictures. I'm going to have to figure out how to do that though. I have never posted pictures here and am not sure how to. If anyone can pm me on this procedure I would appreciate it.

It's easy , when you post go Advanced and at the bottom will be a manage attachments button. From that you browse for the pictures on your computer. Once you have all you want , click on the upload button and it will put them into the post as thumb nails ...

I know that I posted this thread a while back. I was catching up on my posts and figured I'd give an update. I am waiting on the hood from Trufiber. They said it should ship the end of January. As soon as it comes in and I get it painted I will post pictures. I finally mastered the whole posting pictures thing. The wait is killing me. All I have right now is a box with some hood pins in it and my imagination.

Don't you just hate it when the manufactures don't appreciate the importance of instant gratification ...

Yeah I missed the whole point of that saying that,"patience is a virtue." That person must have not had a mustang.

Those were the ones with pins that had the flip over circle and just the regular base, not the ones w/ the raised base circle on the hood.

My hood should be here today, so I will post pictures of the raw product for people to see. My guy who will paint it is going to come over tonight and check it out. I know there have been some questions as to the quality of the hood on other threads. I think it will be fine.
