For those of you with the Scott Drake ones...any tips on the install? Looking to drill mine sometime this fall, but nervous about the drilling.
Its not that hard, install bracket, then the pin,let the hood down, move it around a lil bit while pressing on the pins, the paint on the hood gets mark a bit,go get a drill for aluminum and drill a small hole thru the hood fron under the hood , finish it up from the top with the bigger hole, the good part is that theres a good error to play with ,since the billet is way bigger then the hole your drilling,a good idea before puttin on the billet thing is to get them on the hood with the pin adjusted with the correct height, then get the pin atached so you can align the billet groove with the pin,and before screwin the billet on,get a very small drill and make a hole first, cus the screws tend to move since the hood is curved and that gets the billet of center with the pins..... Any question feel free to ask
When I get upwards of up to 70 mph my hood vibrates up & down enough to bother me. I've heard good and bad things about hood pins. Convince me of it or give me another idea? Thanks in advance guys.
If you plan on driving over 100 mph ,like most of us do ,at times ,hopefully on some empty interstate or country back road ,, I say yes , that stock hood will go crazy over 100 mph ,been there ,done that , I put Shelby hood pins in my stock hood some years ago ,right after I got it and now a have a new hood ,from Turfiber that came with hood locks ,/ the twist in kind ,, works great ,well over 130 mph and no shaking ,,,,,
