I remember someone posting some Mach1 style twist ones. But don't remember the thread. Why don't you like the FRPP or the CDC ones??? BTW- Love your car it's one the best looking stangs on this forum IMO.

Ummm, if that's your car in the links, you already have hood pins.

Just kidding. Your car is almost an exact replica of what I'm building, only I'm black over "black" and I'm using silver stripes. What is your stripe spacing? It looks to be about 1.5". I too am looking for hood pins. I was under the impression that the FRPP pins are too short for S197 stangs. Is this accurate?

I have the fake cdc ones now, But I just ordered a new ram air hood from cervini and want to do the pins again. My body shop (who I trust) is not all that impressed with pins.

Looking for the twist on type, but stick on as well.

I have the CDCs as well, but I did remember seeing Sparco hood pins somewhere also. I think at lmperformance.com, not sure.

These are the hood pins that I have. They are nice because they don't have lanyards and they are stainless so they won't rust. Steeda sells them but they are Sparco.

Ryan1112,
Can you show us a pic of the Steeda pins installed under the hood ?
Did you put them where the bump stops are ?
Any hood dimples ?

I will post some pics tonight when I get off work. I was going to put them through the bump stops but I decided to install closer to the center. They dimpled a little at first but I loosened the screws a little and the dimples went away.
The best advice I can give on installation is measure 20 times, drill once.

I thought of putting them thru the bump stop area of the hood and then filling the void with expanding foam to keep the hood from dimpleing.
I get a lot of hood shake on the drivers side at 70+mph.....so much so that it's scary. I'm affraid that the vibration of the hood against the pins will dimple the hood.

I don't have any dimpling problem and they've been on for a few months. Here are some pictures. The car is really dirty, I haven't been able to wash under the hood yet. I'm going to put stripes on the car when the weather gets warm so they won't look so alone on the hood.

Has anyone had a problem with the CDC's? Do they look pretty real and did anyone have any problems with them loosening after washing?

no problems with mine at all. They look real enough. I may buy them again, they want too much for the twisties.
