I've been over a hundred a couple times, and the hood does flex a good bit. I'm gonna have to get hood pins I think. But the fact that they sell fake hood pins, like at CDC, is just silly. That's rice, IMO.

I am putting hood pins on my V6 but real hood pins along with shelby stripes and a flowmaster exhuast, along with some other goodies I have learned from building early 90's 5.0's. With the current option list for parts for the V6 I am sure I can get another 65hp out of the motor in a snap. That and the fact that the V6 block is cast iron and a larger bore make the V6 the motor of choice for tuners.

classic design concepts (cdc) has hood pins that will fit on anything
i think it would really give it that retro look
They're just 3M taped on; they're not real hood pins. That's American Rice.

Just got mine welded on. Before today, they were tacked in place with product called magnum steel.

Looking nice, Mark. Yours are in the exact same spot as mine, and I also had mine welded.

What techique did you use to locate where to drill the holes.

Took the pins, screwed them into a nut. Put them on the cross member where I wanted them. Closed the hood down on them to see where I would have to cut the insulation away. Cut the insulation away. Put a little red paint on the tips and closed the hood down on them. The paint left marks on the underside of the hood. Easy.

Took string to measure the distance to the angles on the hood to make sure each mark was in the same spot on each side of the hood.

Excellent. Picked up my pins at dealer today. Plan to have them in next weekend. Thanks much.

Where is the picture of your new pins?

If you are like me, it will take you three weeks to get up the nerve to drill holes in your perfectly good hood.
