I would bet somewhere around 4 to 5k tops. My 6ks are much more blue than your typical factory HID light.

Thanks for the response. I was thinking that's the case. I don't like the blue-white color I see on many cars.

You might try messenging Leo:

https://themustangsource.com/member.php?u=100519

I believe he has a 5k system, but I'm going by memory so I could be wrong LOL.

Also, on a related note I just picked up my 6k kit, complete with hi/low mains and fog lights too for $167 delivered from DDM Tuning. It is not the same brand as listed here but is plug & play just the same with lifetime warranty for a better price point.

Installed 5K HID Guy kit

Pictures speak for themselves. These are Silverstars (4300k) versus Xenetec HID (5000k) from HID Guy:

This is showing more orange than it actually was, see headlight pic above for color. THis is for brightness comparison

This color is dead on to how it actually looks:

FULL POWER!!

Couple notes here:
The fogs are still SilverStars (will change out this week), and all shots were taken in manual mode so that what you're seeing is what it actually looks like, not what the camera automatically adjusts it to, according to what it thinks it should look like, AND so the settings were the same between the two bulb types.

I used the flash for the shots of the car so that it would use the whitebalance for the flash for constistency, and is always pretty close for my D50, so that the colors you see in the photos are the actual colors. For the shot with the beams over the lawn using the SilverStars, i couldn't use the flash because it was showing up too much in the picture. That's why the color is off with that one. The one that best represents the colors of the two types of bulbs is the shot of the front with all of the lights on. It's almost dead on.

:EDIT: I've contacted HID Guy about the very blue color of the headlights. They said that normally the Mustangs look a little more blue than others, and they've done plenty of installations on mustangs, but these look a bit too blue. So I'm probably sending them in to get tested.

ALSO DOUBLE CHECK THE BULB TYPE FOR THE DRIVING LIGHTS IF YOU ORDER THEM. I ordered H11's because that's what was referenced on Sylvania's site, but they're actually H10/9145. I'm thinking H11 must be the bulbs on the Pony Package lights.

Judging from the ballasts and the relay, the Autovizion. The Xenetec ballasts that came with my kit are black plastic and look to be a little bigger.

Hi Ryan sorry for the late reply just got back from SEMA. I used Xenetec HID (5000k). The light they produce is a white light with a very light bluish tint. If you look at the the car at night by itself you might not notice the tint it so light. Next to the light quality from stock it's night and day change.

Without this, no HID kit should be used on 2006 and up Mustang that is missing the bulb covers in the lamps. That means practically all 2007 models and definitely all 2008 and up models.

That's possible issue with those years on my 2006 Mustang the stock headlight housing has a reflector. So the best thing to do is to see if your car has the reflector(s) and purchase accordingly.

Hey Jed! The reason I was wondering was from your pictures. It looks like you are running the Autovizion kit. The ballast doesn't look like the Zentec ballast on the HID guy site. I just wanted to make sure I get the kit that you are running when I go to order it.
Thanks Ryan

You know I think you're right they look like the Autovison kit. I looked at my old packaging and nowhere on the boxes or install guide does it mention the name Autovison. But from pictures I've seen the ballast looks exactly like the one made by Autovision. In fact the generic install guide shows a illustration of a larger black box as the ballast. Looks like the guide is more generic as I mentioned before and doesn't depict what you purchased exactly.

I found this picture on the web...

Now caution my bulbs don't look like this below. But the ballast are dead on visually. Hope that helps, HID kits are manufactured by so many companies it's easy to get confused. This link will take to the kit I bought> 9008 / H13 from the HIDGUY.

I haven't bought them yet! I was just comparing the 2 and noticed the ballast's were different.
Thank for the replies.

So anyone know how to get the bulbs capped/coated? I just installed the fogs and they produce a lot of glare.

Check that you have good electrical connections, especially grounds. HIDs are very sensitive

Old thread but I have a 2006 with an HID install ( from vleds I think )
http://www.vleds.com/shop-bulb-numbe...id-system.html
Now one bulb has burned out and I'm considering going back to OEM. I don't want to have to search the planet for the right parts when a headlight burns out.
