Has anyone removed and left off their rocker panels?
Steve mine were $235 so it was less expensive for me to go this way.
I also am doing the blue and black thing on my ride. It does thin the car down. I wrapped the rear with the GT-500 bumper and painted the lower matte black, also did the CDC chin spoiler in matte black. See the thread link for pictures.

FWIW- heres a pic of what it looks like under there- as to the roll-on bedliner look- hey I live in Ohio
I pulled the fenders/rockers when the car was only a couple weeks old and injected paint into anything welded with a downward seam(door inside/bottoms too), and put 3 quarts of roll-on bedliner in and under it...btw- mext time youre under the hood, take a peek by the airbox snorkel- you can see the fender/bumper joint, bet a lot of dirt has caked up in there...due to the inner fender design, road grime collects on that shelf behind the headlights(unless you goop it up with something so water wil run off)
anyway, back on the subject/pic- its ugly under those covers- but good to see just how freakin heavy duty Ford made the chassis

hey- if at all worried about rust- PLEASE check that little flap in front of your rear tires- I truly think its an intentional '10 year rocker' (like a lot of explorers, tbirds, mark VII...) where its almost designed to collect dirt- went to do some work on my mark, and the entire length of both rockers was rotted from inside out- little 'drains' are located higher than lowest point...anyway on the mustangs, the little flap in front of the tires has razor thin gaps on edges, and both of mine, and about half the others Ive looked at have a actual hole up top to let road grime wedge its way into there...gotta pic here somewhere of the part- that and the backside of the headlights- like I mentioned before, get a light and look back there- I bet its plugged with dirt...if so you can easily pop the fender liners out, and flush the bottom of the pinchwelds up with water to push the stuff out before it does any damage, and seamseal or rollonbedliner the little top gaps to make a radius to help stuff runout rateher than wedgeinto inaccessible areas...will try to add some pics here in a minute
found a few pics- the headlight area(car only had 300 miles on it when I pulled the fenders off), the rear flap before and after sealing...note that the backside had NO sealant in the gap due to the angle the undercoat wand was held at...couldnt even see it without a mirror, but was able to hold the camera back in there to get a pic...
heres a link to another post with a bunch of pics of other areas I think will be rustprone on the s197(scroll way down to the last couple posts): http://mustangforums.com/m_1756083/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm

You did the right thing by rustproofing the heck out of your car.
My parents have an '01 Villager that's already showing its age, got some rust on the bottom of the driver's side sliding door, paint peeling off. To the body shop it goes sometime in the next month or two. The road salt just ate away at the paint.
