Bob;

Having just bought and handled the FRPP spoiler, I can say that it's also plastic. But from what I've heard, it has steel reinforcment that prevents lifting.

But I've also read that it can lift. So there you go.

I was under the impression that the aftermarket spoilers were all urethane; soft and flexible like the bumper skins and the OEM spoiler was rigid (either fiberglass or rigid plastic). From personal experience I've only managed to get my hands on the factory GT-500 spoilers that were already installed on GT-500s at the dealerships and they felt very rigid. A friend locally has the pre-colored e-bay special and it is flexible. So now I'm confused unless the FRPP and the OEM are two different spoilers. From previous posts by KC I was to believe that the OEM spoiler was fiberglass. Looks like I'll have to go investigate this further and meanwhile purchase a set of GT/CS side scoops instead. This mod was in line as well, I'll just bump it up above the spoiler.

The FRRP unit is rigid and has no flexability and it's fully blow molded. I'ts hollow, but when you turn it upside down, there is no opening. A family member has an ebay prepainted spoiler on their Milan and it's urethane, so I know what you mean.

I bought this one yesterday ... I'll let you know what I think when it comes. I've bought these for a Taurus and Fusion and was not at all disappointed. You simply cannot tell the OEM from the aftermarket.

I think that is the same seller I bought mine from. I had it put on a few months ago and have had no problems at all with it.

OK, I forgot about this thread.

Install was very simple. You use two of the four holes used for the stock GT spoiler, plus the perimeter of the bottom is lined with two way padded tape. The hardest part is removing the stock one and the stock padded tape the factory uses. It helped using Goo gone. Then setting the new one in place would be easier with a second pair of hands to ease it down in the right spot. Very simple install.

As for the eBay spoiler from the spoiler store ... I think its very nice. It's blow molded plastic, just like the factory GT spoiler. Finish is very nice, paint was perfect. I'd definitely buy from them again. I wish they had the CS side scoops as well.

here's some pics, although not all that great ... the lighting was bad in the garage and it was raining outside.
