I'm finding tons of halibrand and halibrand lookalikes (cobra III, raceline GT, -- but none of them fits. Our offset is pretty much front-wheel-drive. Anybody looked into something like this, or know who might be coming out with an appropriate offset? Looking for 17x9 or so ...

My kid photoshopped this for me -- I have eibach springs for a 1.5-inch drop waiting in the garage -- of a car that i think is acadian's (it's been my desktop wallpaper for months now). There's a xenon ducktail waiting, too. Going for a shelby without the stripes look ...

Dtoups,
I'm looking for the same thing. I don't think anyone makes what we're after just yet, but I'll bet it's on the way soon. There have been other posts on this topic, and others have said that they contacted various companies and were told that '05 offset was in the works. Guess we'll have to be patient? Other ideas:

ACIIIs Awesome and offset adjustable, but expensive, and no 18s.

JME Not bad, but no prices?

Unique Performance E-mail them and see if you can get the wheels separately?

FR500 '05 Offset available in March, and 18x9s, too! Not quite Halibrand, but they put these on the GT supercar!

Good luck, and post if you find any more info, 'cause you're not the only one looking to enhance the retro look.

Unique Performance uses the ACIII's therefore wrong offset.

MustangTuning gets their wheels from WheelReplicas.com and they said there won't be an FR500 style wheel offered for the '05.
Did you hear something different?

Someone somewhere on this forum posted that the FR500s were to be available for the '05 by March of this year, and provided a link. I bookmarked that link and labeled it as "available for '05 in March". I don't have any proof, and I'm not sure which thread even had the information. I guess a search could find it? So this falls under the category of hearsay until a source can be verified. Wouldn't you think that these companies would be eager to cater to the potential of the 2005 as soon as possible though? No other car is going to generate as much aftermarket business, and the retro looking wheels are a natural with the '05s retro body. I would be surprised if there was not an enormous jump in aftermarket products available in just a few months. I am psyched! I can't believe I've got a second chance to relive the 60's!

Unfortunately, that was me.
I later got confirmation from WheelReplicas they wouldn't be making the FR500 REPLICA for the '05.

The wheels that were used on "Eleanor" were P.S. Engineering. Which is Phil Schmidt. His number is 310-534-4477. He makes great quality wheels and he is a real nice person to deal with. He can make the wheels with custom offsets. Good luck and let us know if you contact him and or if you get wheels from him. As always, post pics!!

I would recommend Team 3 ACIII wheels. You can get them in just about any offset in 17x9. They are expensive though. But I believe the original P.S. Engineering wheels are even more. I researched the ACIII wheels a while back and the non-polished ones (like the ones on Eleanor) are only around $350 a piece. Not too bad for a custom wheel.

And by the way, Des... yes that's my car before I striped it. If you get the Elanor wheels though, you have to get the black stripes. Just my opinion.

The Team 3 wheels look great and $350's fine with me, but they don't offer 18's.

Check out this other thread: 05 Shelby Clone
The 05 in the background has what look like Halibrand Cobra IIIs on it! Not only that, but later in the thread (page 2) there is this link: TradeUnion Wheels where they are selling the Halibrand look-alikes found on the '05 V6s in a 17x9 size with +45mm offset and spinners! The possibilities are opening! I always liked the V6 wheels, just because they had a Halibrand flavor to them. A 17x9 size really helps. An 18x9.5 in the right offset would do it for me. I've e-mailed TradeUnion for price quotes, and will pass the info along when I get it.

Sounds interesting. Hope they make them in 18's. Let us know if you hear anything.

More info on the possibility of FR500 replicas for the '05.
