GT500 Radiator Cover Extensions?

Hey folks, I need to pick up some GT500 radiator cover extensions thanks to a jacked up headlight bracket (courtesy of a shop who I will not mention here.) Someone at the shop apparently leaned on my driver side headlight and snapped the main mounting bracket, then superglued it hoping I would not notice. Well sadly it didn't hold up and I don't want to go and order a new one for such a BS thing. I figured I would pick up some extensions that would cover this piece once it's repaired, but the only solution I am finding is the crazy expensive carbon fiber JLT ones or the big one-piece StangBanga ones. Are there any other ones out there that I'm overlooking? I don't want to spend $200 to run the CF ones as I was planning on painting these pieces anyway.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Kris

I've been looking for a less expensive alternative too. Unfortunately the 2 choices you listed are the only ones I know of right now.

Maybe we should get all of the people that want these to email American Muscle with a request to produce them! I would pay $69.99 (which is what they charge for the GT version) in a heartbeat. I'm gonna email them right now!

That'd be pretty sweet, but go figure, I need them in the next couple of weeks as my car's going to the SEMA show.

Just talked to Midwest Auto Gear. Sounds like they're not even CONSIDERING making these pieces. I also talked to JLT and it sounds like non-CF pieces are in the works, but they're shaping up to cost almost as much as the CF ones. Go figure.

That's disappointing! I guess they don't want to do the tooling for the GT500 because the production #'s are so much lower than the Mustang.

Kris is at least the 25th person, including myself to contact Midwest about this that i'm aware of. They're a manufacturing and industrial protyping company that happens to manufacture some Mustang parts because they can turn a buck, not a real Mustang based company. The numbers aren't there for the GT500 style covers to be as profitable as the regular covers, so they just don't care.

I'd go with the banga stang one, or make your own. It's really the only two choices, I think a 1 piece painted would look much nicer trimmed to fit to the car anyways

Yeah, I think I may go with the BangaStang one. I talked to them today and they were very cool and helpful. The price is good considering I'd need the center cover anyway.
