GT500 conversion with stock GT500 hood?
Anyone use the stock GT500 hood with their conversion? I was thinkin about using this because its pretty cheap compared to all the fancy stuff. I did the conversion and have my stock GT hood on and was wondering how it would look with the stock GT500 hood without stripes. Also i think the fiasca looks bad *** from a side view but kinda wierd from a distant straight ahead view but maybe its just because i have a flat gt hood

If I were to do a conversion it would be w/o stripes, not questions asked. If i were to ever buy a real GT500 it would also have no stripes. I hate being looked at and stripes make people look.
The reason I asked earlier for pics was because you were talking about you stock hood with the GT500 fascia. Now that you have added some pics I will give you I like how clean it looks, it to me is very sleek! Again nice job on saving some money and having a clean car. I would not change a thing on it, but maybe spend the $$ on some rims in place of the GT500 hood

Don't do it at all if people looking bugs you. They're going to look, stripes or not, due to the aggressive appearence and relative rarity of the GT500 style nose.

that looks pretty nice but if i get stripes they would be painted...and thats expensive. also i've always wanted to know what those circular things are on the bottom grill

The "hunt" for a good deal is half of the fun for me. I did save some money by doing the front end swap & foglight wiring myself (not very hard at all!). I also removed the stock rear spoiler and faux gas cap (a real PITA).
For those of you considering this conversion, keep in mind that larger parts (like an entire used GT500 front end) can be shipped via Greyhound pretty inexpensively. You just have to be able to pick them up at the bus terminal.
