Question GT500 conversion question (rocker panel color)

I've been inspired by OKLACOP's conversion, and pulled the trigger on mine.
i got the full front and rear fascias, as well as the GT500 the spoiler, and the Shelby CS6 hood.

well, now that i look at it, i noticed that the GT rocker panels come painted in the body color (tungsten), while all the original GT500 photos i've seen had the front chin spoiler, the side rocker panels (skirts) and rear bumper bottom (diffuser) are unpainted matt black.

now i'm kinda lost.
should i paint everything, or should i order a stock set of rocker panels?

i've seen plenty of conversions, and the latest i noticed is rjuice.
while i LOVE the overall look, i can't help but notice something is off, when the front chin spoiler is black, while the rocker panel and rear diffuser are in body color..

your thoughts please!

Just a suggestion, why not try it with your tungsten rockers first, then if you don't like it, you should be able to just paint them flat or semi-gloss black if you want to.

I guess it depends on the look you're after. I personaly ahve a tungsten GT and will go the way of flat black rockers with the rear fascia flat black on the bottom similar to a Shelby. I'm probably not going to do the front end...just because it's a little pricey. Maybe in a few years, I'll just buy a GT 500!

Actually, none of those black parts are painted. They're just plain black plastic like your side mirrors. The V6 Mustang has the same rockers.

Personally I love the look of the black rockers because it's makes a bloated car look sleeker. They're also a LOT easier to clean.

Thanks for all the responses.
car goes in today, in an hour.
guess i'll have to wait and see how it turns out, then either paint the diffuser and chin spoiler, or change the rocker panels..

You know I was thinking the same thing the other day so I photoshopped his car with black rockers and it just didn't seem right to me with the color of his car. I think it depends on the color. I would ask around and see if any of the V6 guys have some rockers. I know many have upgraded to the GT takeoffs so there must be a set laying around. I'm keeping mine unpainted for my conversion but I don't know if I'll order the GT/CS rear yet. I love the shelby splash guards though. Also congrats on the CS6 hood choice. That's the way I'm going (eventually).

Here's the photoshopped image. Hope you don't mind RJuice

I decided to leave my rockers Silver as I think it looks better that way. I think that the black rockers look tacky and unfinished and it likens the Shelby to the V6

Actually, they did come that way from the factory back in the day. My '96 had black rocker panels and a black inset in the rear fascia. But, I'm on the fence with this one. I have the Shelby GT500 rear fascia with the area between the pipes black, but I think I'm going to leave the rockers Satin Silver like the rest of the car.

I think it's just a matter of personal preference. And, that Orange GT Deric posted looks pretty good.

you don't want a painted splitter... if yor car is lowered, think about scrapping. now if it is black, who will know that it's scrapped up.

i have a black splitter, so take it from me.

I don't think anyone here wants to paint the front splitter. Can't imagine that would look very good

yeah it's surounded by exotics
i'm getting the whole job done at the dealership's bodyshop, that serves Ferrari, Maserati, Jaguar, Range Rover and Ford..

you'd find some random cars in from time to time, including Porsches and a Mercedes Mclaren SLR that got me day dreaming
