Most Classic Mustangs have had some sort of Fog Light, or Driving Light in the Grill.

Ummm, maybe I am missing something, so all the classic Mustang GT's had fog lamps? Then why is out of the ordinary for the upcoming GT to have them?

If you have seen a GT on the road you would love the fogs...you KNOW it is a new mustang from a mile away. Kinda like the fogs at the bottom of the TA WS6's ...you can tell that car a mile away. I like em cus it makes the car unique....then again i love everything about this car.

Actually on the '69 Mustangs, those inner grille lights are not foglights. Those are the car's brights. The two outer lights are just the low-beams then when you hit the bright switch on the floor, all four bulbs light up with the inner two being brighter. It's pretty cool. Just a little something that most people mistake for being foglights like previous year GT's. B)

True, just clearing up the all the confusion going on over them being "fog lamps" in '69 though ^_^

Yes Brad I did know that all classic mustangs did not have lamps in the Grill, But almost all of the Performance Models did. That was my point. Sorry if it confused anyone. I also knew that the 69's lights in the grill were the high beams, and that is also the main reason I don't like a 70, because they eliminated the outboard lowbeams, :notnice: and the other reason is they eliminated the Side Scoop on the Fast Back.
I like the Four light front end. I think it definitly recalls the Classic Mustang's Performance Heritage! But I must admit I hated them at first too. But the more I saw them the more they reminded me of the "Driving Lights " on the Classic 64-68 GT's, and even more so of the 69's which are my Favorite Classic Mustangs, but the 71-73 are a Very Close Second.
And the Other Reason I like the Fog's in the Gril of the 05 is for the very reason posted above by BlackRiderX. This Car is just going to look D@MN ME@N, not to mention Distinctive at night with those Four Lamps Blazing! How many other cars can you name in the last Decade that have had Four Round Lamps at that level?
At this Distance in the Dark, All you need is the Lamp Configuration and You Know That It's a Mustang GT on your Tail!
And by the time it gets this close You Know to Get out of It's Way!

I like the fog lights,
I am sure the aftermarket will be littered with alternatives to those who dont..
ideas...
68 shelby/california special style
billet
thin square mesh - ala 68 Mustang
grille with bars and corral
etc. etc...
From what I have seen on the grille, I am not a fan of the lack of attention to detail on the preproduction models. If I see an aftermarket one I like, I will take it... overall though, I think it suits the character of the GT and is different from the foglight-in-lower fascia trend (see pontiac, dodge)

There will be aftermarket galore on this car anyway. And there will be plenty of take-offs both ways as well as companies that bulk-buy Ford parts and resell them. Whatever you can think of, someone is going to make it.

The fogs are one of my favorite features on the GT. The grille IMO, looks too plain without them for the GT model.
However, I'm sure installing a new grille won't be that difficult.

The fogs are ok. Plus I don't want to make my car look like a v6 by removing them. The earlier years had smaller fog lamps. The ones on the 05 seem to be more like the 69. Like you said. On the 69, the bigger fogs look awesome. They look to be the same size as the headlights.
I think everybody trys to compare the 05 to their favorite classic mustang body style. For me it's the first couple years. Maybe that's why I would like to see some smaller fogs rather than ones that are the same size ( or appear to be the same size) as the headlights.. That way they wouldn't stand out as much. My mom has a 66 GT vert and it doesn't have fogs.. Was that standard? Maybe someone removed them?
Someone have a photoshop with smaller fogs?
