GT with V6 Body Stripes??

I was running some errands today and in 20 minutes I saw 2 GT's with the V6 Lower Body decals. Now the first one I was thinking "maybe it's a GT clone, or a real GT with the added stripe", but 2 different GT's with the body decals?? I wonder if a local dealer is doing that thinking more stickers = better.

I'm not a big fan of them, I think they look tacky personally. I enjoy the fact that the Mustang is so recognizeable that it needs no labels/banners/tags to tell people what it is. Heck, there isn't even a blue oval on them anywhere and people know what it is.

"Oh I was wondering what kind-a car that wuz. But is right thar".

leave the redundant vinyl to the ricer crowd IMHO.

I don't like those stripes one bit. I think when the text is run ALL the way down the door it looks very tacky, very 80's style. However, I DO like the BSM style rocker stripes with text on the front fender only, i.e. "GT300" or "GT350". Those look great!

+1, I do like the GT350 stripes, just not the factory "MUSTANG" stripes down below the door. I REALLY like the "Grabber Blue" car with the black stripes. I'll go hunt down a photo...

This is a -1 ...I do like the Mach 1 stripes or the C stripes, just not the rocker stripes....before "just doing it" getting my CS, was seriously considering a loaded Pony, except for the stripe...just looks too secretarial to me....but I'm sure some of my choices through the years have caused some gastrointestinal stress for some people....if I've been lucky...
Bottom line...your car makes you happy so dress her up in a way that makes you happy.....

I like the Mustang side tape. Matter of fact I upgraded to the Pony Package side tape when my stripes had to be replaced because of my accident. I find it no more redundant than someone putting a side tape with "GT300" on their GT Mustang.

Just my opinion.

Who cares? If the owner likes them, we need to say OK (and leave it at that). The fact that we love our 'Stangs means we have more in common than not (hopefully).

Wow I actually like that, looks real good on a white vert.

Whenever I go in to have my stripes painted, I plan to have the side tape painted to match the color of the stripes that's going on the Mustang.

The Pony package one is a bit nicer then the standard V6 one. But I am sure some dealers do it here and there on stock units. There's a couple Saleen dealers around here that put the little faded side stripes on their GT's that say Mustang instead of Saleen.

You could always get that gigantic reflective horse down the entire side of the car....

I was simply stating that I thought it was strange to see 2 GT's with V6 tape stripes. Also, I don't like the tape stripes. That is all.

I have the white Mustang stripes from the Pony package on my GT. It adds to the white stripes on the hood and truck.

"" I wonder if a local dealer is doing that thinking more stickers = better.""

I was just agreeing with the Op, and I stated my opinion.
Didn't know I get flamed for that. Guess there are alot of flamers out there.

Personally I like the Pony package side tape, but (there is always a but) you need to finish the look with shelby stripes, when you do that I think it really ties the car together nicely. I will agree that most of the V6 owners leave their car as is and the side tape (especially the standard) cheapens the look of the V6 a little. JMHO.

Some of the wheels have a blue oval but I to like the idea that everyone knows the car by the lines.
