GT conversion

Hello everyone, i want to change the front fascia of 06 GT to the shelby one. Wanna make the look of the KR bue without the snake logos and stuff, just a clean look with hood and fascia. Just got a question, the headlights remane the same?

Best regards

Oh ok ty 05YellowGT just another thing, does the truefiber hoods hold on nice with time? Not a really big fan of fiber parts but the price difference its huge!

+ driving lights, plastic shield above radiator, L&R plastic wheel well shields (just the front halves), plastic brackets that support the bumper at the top to the left and right of the grille, 2 brackets that rivet to the bumper below the headlights to clip bumper to headlight housing + a pile of bolts, clip nuts, etc.

As stated above, a full kit from 05StangKC makes life easier (that's how I did mine)

Thanks. My hood isn't a Trufiber, that's a real Shelby Super Snake hood.

Here's a shot of the underside:

The genuine Shelby hood is a beautifully made piece, but it does cost a lot more than the Trufiber ones.

Correct. Fiberglass except the grilles which are separate aluminum parts on the Shelby hood.

I've seen both the Trufibers and the Shelby unpainted, and I like the construction quality on the Shelby better myself. Delivered almost ready for paint. Whether a bit less prep is worth double the cost? probably not, but in my case I really liked the visual lines of the genuine hood more than the Trufiber 'tribute' hoods, which looked a slight bit "off" to me. It was worth the extra cash to me not to spend the next several years thinking "I really wanted the Shelby one..."

I bought one of those when I was first doing my conversion (exact same hood by VIS, just the fiberglass version). Total piece of junk. Warped, did not line up even close with the fenders, the top and bottom panels missed mating in the center by 1/2" and they stuffed the completely visible, huge gap with silicone aquarium sealer.

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid

If you want to save money, go with Trufiber, you'll be a lot happier.

Jeez 1500 and they don't even include the vents!

I love Shelby, but their prices have always been ridiculously high.

Hell I paid less than that for an aluminum Saleen hood, and it came with the vents!

This is a good strong hood. Good fit and easy prep, and because the hood is so strong I did not use hood pins this time. This hood fits tighter than the stock hood.

A couple vids of trufiber testing the Gts4 hood

WOW yeah I'd go with the GTS-4 for less than half the price... hood vents included!
