Hey guys,
I searched for a while, but could not find a definitive answer to this question.
I have a co-worker that is interested in buying my Bullets and tires for her V6 vert. She was worried about having to re-calibrate the speedo to match the new tires. After looking at the tire size caculator at 1010tires, it shows only a .627% speedo difference, less than 1/2 mph slow at 60mph. I personally don't think it's worth the hassle to re-cal for that small amount, but she asked me to find out what it might cost and if the dealer would even do it or someone else would have to.
Thanks,
jeff

Here is the screen shot of the difference between the two tire sizes.

Maybe she should recalibrate the speedo every few months, as the tires slowly wear off...
What makes her think that the speedo is that precise to begin with ?

1.) After 10000 miles how many miles will she will have?

2.) If a train of Mustangs were east bound at 100 mph and she was west bound at 111 mph, how many miles will she have?

3.) If a dealer has 7 Mustang GT's and 6 Mustang v6's, how many miles will she have?

Tell her not to waste her money. The overall diameter is too close to matter. Swap em out and be done with it

If she takes it somewhere, they'll probably tell her the same thing OR take her money and not do it anyway.

It's probably already off 1-2mph either way... the new wheels/tires may push it closer to being accurate

It's funny because a cop once told me my speedo was off. He said I was doing 72mph, but I swear I was doing 55!

Thanks guys,
Once I showed her that it was going to be such a small difference, she is ok with it. She was thinking it would be like 5 or 10 mph different. Now I'm just waiting for her to get the ok from her husband to buy the Bullets. She said she ought to make him go out and clean the V6 wheels once! Says it a real pain.

I 2nd that. They are a real pain to clean. Thats the biggest reason I got rid of them.

I have the Bullit wheels on my V6... didn't bother with changing the speedo.

I figure this way my warranty will last .627% longer.

Plus the stock wheels are going back on come winter time... though I don't suppose you have to deal with that in FL.
