Honestly your car looked better with....

The emblem and no flat black paint on the rear panel. Plus you could see the key lock hole.
Just adding the shelby gt500 rear spoiler would have completed the look.
But heck thats my opinion.
Add back the emblem and put on a honeycomb trim panel and it would look really sharp !

Or you could go with Classic Design Concepts trim panel.

Personally I'm liking what rjuice did. I've never liked the honeycomb rears because of the lip it places around the faux gas cap.

Thumbs up Classic Design Concepts Rear Trim Panel

Looks like it could fit the bill just right ! No Emblem and it matches his
black out theme for the Mustang. Not to mention the key hole is still
there for the trunk.

The black on the car is just vinyl. Just did it to see what it looked like. The key hole is filled in but not permanent. Have been thinking of putting the emblem back on, but like the way it looks like without it. Oh and dont personally care for the cdc panels

All I can say is .....

glad to hear that its not permanent. Still looks sharp though.
I saw a Shelby GT500 up close today for the first time and all I can say
is wow. The Cobra emblems are HUGE. Its making me rethink if I want to
put them on my car. Your GT looks great in this picture.

I had my emblem shaved along with my wing for a cleaner look. I left the keyhole since there there is no other way to open the trunk if the remote dies. I also had 2 GT badges left over since I threw Hireman painted ones on the sides.

I think that all she needs is the Shelby rear now

All work was done by me and a friend. Except the paint, which was done by another friend.

Its not that I mind you asking. Its that I got a great deal and am not able to publish this price for everyone to see. If you go to the dealer I think it's in the ballpark of $1500 to $1900.

I've also considered doing this mod while retaining the stock hood and painting the rear clip ala CS style thus avoiding having to paint the lower rockers black. Were there any clearance problems with the stock hood?

Thanks
Bob

I do have a concern that I've noticed on the front end photos of all of the photos of conversions I've seen. The bumper section below each headlight appears to bow such that there is a larger gap just below the inboard side of the headlight than anywhere else. I'm wondering if there isn't some downward pressure on that section. On factory GT500s that I've seen there is no gap under the inboard section of the headlights. Granted I've only seen two GT500s in person and no conversions in person but from the photos it looks like there is distortion in the bumper under the headlights. Can those who have made this conversion perhaps post closeup photos of this section?

TIA
