I picked up my new Pony today and the first stop I made was at Discount Tire to put on some American Racing wheels, and Tires that I had ordered!

I thought there was going to be a problem since they sent out some of the tires I needed to another store. The Sales guy said, "Well we have three of them!" I was like Errrr!

The wheels are American Racing Casino in 17x7.5 in diamond cut finished alloy. They cost $150 and look better then chrome IMO. Here's the link

The tires are BFG G-force KDWS in 255/50/R17. It's a tire that I've had new eye on for a long time now, and I think it's perfect to ensure good grip on the slick Texas roads that I drive on! Here's the link for them....

I was really impressed by the look of the wheels/tires on my new pony! I haven't had a chance to drive around on them yet, but I will tomorrow and I'll report back!

After I've had the car for a while with these new tires/wheels I must say that I really like them!

They handle great in the rain. I have much more confidence then I did before taking turns at speed. But, as always; results may vary. So be carefull after getting new tires on your new pony. Get the "feel" of it first before you test it to the limits. :nono:

The KDWS 255 is a great tire for the Mustang and I am sure you will like them a bunch. The wheels look good!

Thanks guys! They seem to ride pretty good, except that the balancing was off on all of them, so I went back and had them redo it. The car had just a small vibration at around 60 MPH which isn't bad considering how bad the balance was off on all four wheels! :bang:

I guess the guys were in a hurry to get out of there since I got there at 5:00 when they close at 6:00. But, every thing is taken care of now!

I'm good to go!

I have 10,000 miles on my BFG G Force KDWS tires and they are still pretty full of tread! I'm very happy with them. I will buy them again. NTB matched the Tire Rack price for my tires too (cost + shipping.)

My only concern would be to make sure that you keep your tire pressure normal, because the sidewalls are steel reinforced and may deform under lower tire pressure.

I picked up a nail on one of mine at 7000 miles, had tire insurance, and replaced it. Before I replaced it I put air into the bad tire on two consecutive days because of the leak. It did not ride right IMO under full tire pressure once it was 1/2 flat. But I ride my car hard too.

Looks good Falchion.
