I have the Street Scene ducktail on and have had it on for a couple weeks. I have brought the car up to over 130, and even drove 600 miles to Texas and back with it ONLY taped down. I had no problems at all. I finally did screw it down this weekend for security purposes, but the tape will hold fine.

Thanks for the info. I am 95% ready to get the Street Scene ducktail.. How did you screw it in? I was thinking the same thing for security reasons also.

It took a little longer to paint the back of them black ( which is done now), then I had to get some 3M tape primer from my work, as the instructions reccommend ( but dont includse in the box)........Mike this might be something to consider putting in with the tape and instructions, that stuff can be hard to find.
The guys in my warehouse brought me a few cans we use on some of our products at work.
Anyways, post pics will be soon.

Pony Girl ( and all) I met with our staff this morning and starting today, we are going to include the promoter with the louvers... Pony Girl got one of the first sets so it was not included..

to show you how awesome of a guy Mike is after I got my 1stGen louvers I e-mailed him asking what "adhesive promoter" was and where I could find it.
He responed very quickly stating I could get it at a paint shop etc. and if I wanted to wait he would ship me out some as he had some.
Of course me being the impatient person that I am, declined his most generous offer and went and bought some..
Now that is customer service and a company that goes above and beyond what is expected!!!
Mike you Rule!!!!!

(I am actually seeing a shop this friday about pricing out welding the trunk lid stock spioiler holes and repainting Ducktail...... gotta have it!!! )

Dave... glad to see another convert. I had to have the ducktail too. It was well worth the money to have the spoiler holes welded. It's like a different car with the ducktail.

There was promoter included with the ducktail. Good to know it'll be included with the louvers too. And Mike... you are the man. Glad to see you taking responsibility like that. SSE's customer service is at the top of the aftermarket world. I should be ordering my generation 2 louvers in a month or so.

Rene', in case Mike doesn't respond quickly (and so you can get them on quicker ) you do not need to sand the louver where the tape is going. Just make sure you clean it really good with some sort of wax/grease remover. Then, aplly the promoter and let that dry really good... for at least 5-10 minutes. Then, just apply the tape.
Edit: I just read the on-line instructions for the louvers and it does say to scuff the surface prior to applying the adhesive promoter. It didn't say to do so on the ducktail... but I guess it wouldn't hurt to scuff/sand where the tape will go a little first. Just make sure to clean it again after that prior to applying the promoter.

Id do a light sand on it just to make sure. If you got any paint in that area it helps to clean it with a light sand first. Also, it takes any mold release from the urethane off when you do a light sand. Its just a precaution.
