FYI: Fog Lamps & Options
#1
I have always felt lights are kind of like horse power, you can't have enough. I know that others on this board are also considering something similar.
Trying to figure out a way to convert the fogs to driving lights. Pulled my grill today to check out the setup on the fog lamps. Ford apparently had Sylvania make them special at 6.75". I tested a 7" that may fit with some minor mods to the bucket. Or could use a stud mounted lamp.
I also replaced the stock horns with Hella 2 note air horns. These really make a big difference at higher speeds, especially with all the big watt stereo systems on the road today. This freed up the grill area a bit where I could now mount two smaller driving lamps behind the grill & keep the existing stock fogs. I always wire my extra driving lights so they come on with the high beams.
The lower valance with the blanks are really only 3"X4" because of mounting clips. I have seen some nice small Hella round fogs that would work good in the lower grill after making a 3" diameter cutout.
Any thoughts or ideas gladly welcomed.
