Or the reflection off the windsheild could distract you or possibly prevent you from seeing an obstacle.

You know how they do it on Hot rods, show cars, etc to hide the plates. I want to do that but I wonder how much it could be?
You guys know what I'm talking about right?

The front plate isn't that big a deal. Plus, unlike the vette, it doesn't take that much away from the appearance of the front end. The placement on the stang is pretty good IMO.

kevinb, myself, and anyone else from Virginia is required to have one, yes, altho again, i seen half the cars around here without em, and have yet to hear of one person get a ticket for not having one, but maybe that's just me

as far as the pics go, that first one with just the plate makes me shudder, a bracket, maybe a small black one would look a lot more professional to me, like the one in the scanned pic (thanks boomer)

This is what the German plates will about look like:

If you're lucky, they allow you to order a smaller plate like in the rear. It's not as high as in the photo, though... you get only one, so the regular plate (maximum width 520mm, fixed height 110mm) has to be put on the front. Well, it's not _that_ bad

Wombert, the front plate looks fine to me. Probably nicer than the taller, shorter plates we have to put on.

How about modifying a US plate to look more like the German one? Should be easy enough, right?

It is pretty silly looking

On my miata, I had one that mounted in the "mouth" but had springs, at speed it layed flat inside the grille I got pulled over once for it and the cop walked around the front and BEHOLD! the tag was right there he was like this:

OMG, Kev! That's awesome! Doesn't look like there's enough space on the 'stang to do anything like that.
