Jon, I used Testors model paint. Removed the taillights and sat at the kitchen table. Took my time and went slowly! I used a 1/4" wide brush and gloss black paint. I didn't tape amything off, just went slow & smooth. I also put two coats on.

Thanks....
Dave

How much did the custom stripe job run you? I want almost the same job done in vinyl on mine, but in white on my torch red.

I like the colors, but I'd loose the third break light emblem, as well as the Boston Red Sox sticker on your front windshield. No offense to you, but that is a Mustang afterall, not a refrigerator. And also, looking at the front of the hood and your front bumper, the stripes appear to be off fairly noticeably. I'd get the installer to fix that.

Well 1st, loose the Red Sox sticker! NEVER! I'm a RED SOX fan. Believe you me, it's the only sticker going on my ride! The sticker is small enough, that is dosen't distract from the lines of the car. You can't even see it, from inside the car! 2nd, the stripes do look off, but it's the pictures / lighting. I've triple-checked the stripes! I was even standing right next to the installer, during the entire job. He was really cool about it and we talked about cars, just about the whole time!
But, thanks for your words of advice anyways! I'm always opened to new ideas / opinions.

Dave... I've had the same thing happen with pics of my car before, as far as lines looking off. As long as it looks good in person. But, I'd still lose the Red Sox sticker. I'm a huge Red Sox fan too, but I display my team spirit other ways. And I would never put anything on my ride that would make somebody want to key it or something like that. You could have a Yankee fan see that sticker and want to teach you a lesson about baseball. It's just not worth it IMO.

I like it a lot! I don't think that 2-color stripes style would work on most other colors, but it looks awesome on the silver.

Nice job!

Well, I Really do hate to do this. But, since I'm getting request, asking me where I got my kit from! I got my kit from Autotrimdesign. I was the 1st person to ask them, to make a custom kit for the 05 Mustang. I designed the kit, color scheme and size I wanted (center stripes is 21", 1" gap, 2" side stripes). I paid for the kit upfront, so they could work on it. I was Very patient and waited for them to get their hands on a 05 to take measurements. Then the had to make the kit and they wanted to 'Test fit' the kit, before they would ship it to me. So, I continued to wait. Finally, after waiting for 9 1/2 weeks, I got the kit. Well, then I had to find someone to do the install. Not something I wanted to try myself! So, I finally found someone local. Well, here's where the Fun begins! During the install, Most of the pieces were cut too short? They did not go all the way, end-to-end, as I clearly requested from the Vendor. Luckily, my installer uses the same Avery vinyl and was able to fix the Black. The top of the back bumper was cut 1 1/2" too short? The top of the trunk and back of the trunk pieces, didn't even meet up where the seam is supposed to, so my installer made this piece from scratch. But when he started to install the red side stripes, same issues (Plus the kit was short 2 pieces) and my installer did not have the same color red. Well, the black hides the seams well, but the red does not. So, instead of Patching the red, the installer ordered new red and did the side stripes completely from scratch. Of course, I had to pay extra for this work. I sent Autotrimdesign an email (twice) trying to work out the issues. Well, it's been 10 days, and I've heard NOTHING from them. So, I would NOT buy my kit from them, as it seems Customer service is not high on their list. Talking to my installer, he said he could have made this kit himself, without any problems. So, if you want something like mine, find a good local Vinyl installer and work with them. I found my installer, by looking up Signs, not anything to due with auto shops / painters. Also, some boat shops work alot with vinyl, for making boat names!
OK, rant is now off!
 :ranting:

That's almost perfect.....if only the Big Black stripe were red and the
red was black.....then for good measure make the in-between white
and then your vanity plate: 1OHIOST

You'd be set and the envy of all Buckeye fans!! It almost looks
like an Ohio State Helmet theme.
GO BUCKS!!

Not sure why soooooo many people are ordering kits online. Just go to a local sign shop. They can make whatever you want. Save yourself the hassle.
