I believe the original one was a chop, and done backwards. Technically, and historically, the pony should always face to the left if it's by itself, i.e. the grill, gas cap, etc. If there are two of them, like fender badges, the opposite one can face forward, or to the right.

Out of curiosity, if a company were to make a billet aluminum medallion that eliminated the keyhole and looked more muscular and substantial than the stock medallion (unlike the Steeda joke for $130 + their insulting shipping charges), what would be a fair price before shipping? $100? $80?
