Exterior Window Trim

The black plastic trim at the bottom of window is faded, so I'd like to replace it. Anyone know where I can source a new one? Also, how does it install?

Have you tried a rubber restoration product like Adams InOut Spray? It should clean up and be like new.

Is it not under warranty? If you are out of warranty, try Back to Black or Black Again and it does work for trim and rubber.

I've tried Lexol and Back to Black. The finish of the plastic is faded. My car is out of warranty, so I guess I will just stop by my local Ford dealer and see how much it costs.

It's called the belt molding when you get to the parts counter.

If its got a bunch of spots on it, just use Stoner window cleaner, takes the spots right off and looks like new.

If its terminal try back to black.

I apply the back to black with a tooth brush , it gets it down into the little indention's in the plastic and turns them black too ...

I didn't think warranty would cover normal wear and tear?

Faded trim pieces, probably covered.

If they can get Ford to replace it, its all just free money for the dealer to fix it.

Hey there,

It MAY still be covered under your 3/36 B2B warranty. I just came from a Ford Dealer (as a Service Advisor) - we replaced that kind of stuff all the time under warranty. As long as you are under 3 years and 36,000 miles its worth a try for sure.
