Eibach Pro-kit only...

I have read many posts about lowering our stangs. I would like to only get the Eibach Pro-kit because I can't afford the tokico shocks right now. How is the pro-kit only set up? Will it destroy my car and ride like crap? Is this recommended because it seems like alot of guys installed the pro-kit only. Thanks in advance for the feedback!

If you are going with just springs I recommend the Steeda Ultralite's. Nice drop and comfortable ride. We just put a set on Shatter's car last weekend and it looked great.

I did the pro kit only, figured I'd get shocks when they do go. I never had a lowered car before and its a little bumpier then I thought, but im sure its normal if you've had a lowered car.
I also did panhard bar to center the rear end, also did UCA because I have a 1 piece driveshaft.
If your going to do it, one additional thing for sure to do at the same time is at least camber bolts. Some people have been able to align it fine, but mine was way off, and needed the bolts. So had to essentially redo alot of the same work since I did springs then found out I needed them

The look with just the pro kit is great though

Pro-Kit only is a bit bouncier than stock. Seems the stock shocks/struts don't have proper rebound dampening for the Pro-Kit. Not saying it isn't OK or even is a real issue, just if you're the "princess and the pea" type you will see a tad more bouncyness than stock.

Also have another car with Steeda Competition springs and stock shocks/struts. That thing is harsh compared to stock. Especially when it is cold you feel every crack and twig. That said, I LOVE IT! The linear rate springs and firm ride are great for cornering. No dive under braking and no lift under acceleration.

You'll be safe no matter what if you keep the drop minimal, 1" or so.

The pro-kit doesn't "require" anything else, but I strongly recommend the alingment bolts and adjustable panhard so you can center your rear and align the car. Your strut mounts will go out soon as well, and you'll hear a cracking/clacking EVERY TIME you go over something, it will sound like your car is falling apart. Steeda's HD upper strut mount, I highly recommend it, but then again, it's not a cheap part...

As mentioned above, if you only have $$$ for the springs, I would either just buy Steeda's or make sure I have enough for the pro-kit + alingment bolts + adjustable panhard + possibly HD Strut Mount.

I found out quickly that with this car, it's not just dropping it, it comes with a lot more attached right behind it! Ugh...

Most likely you will need camber bolts (for alignment) and an adjustable pan-hard bar. I had lowered mine using just he pro-kit and they couldn't come close to aligning it properly without installing the camber bolts. The rear shifted towards the drivers side. With stock rims you don't notice it that much but mine are not stock so it was very obvious. Anyway, the ride will be rather harsh compared to what you have right now. I removed the lowering springs last year. I will wait until I get proper shocks and the panhard bar before I put them back in. Check out my blog for more information.

no one said bump steer kit yet .... It helped my car alot after the pro springs. You can get away with the springs only and it will work BUT everything will not be correct.
At the least with the springs I would get the bump steer kit and camber bolts. You can get the bolts for around 30 bucks.
Your lca's won't be at the right angle and your rear end will probably be off to one side also. Your ride will be pretty good untill you hit a few bumps in a row.
I think your pinion angle will be alright from what I have read around here. Your car will look much cooler for sure.

I got a lifetime alignment from firestone when I started this project and I am not sorry about that. Seeing how I did things piece by piece.

Thanks for the info. It seems that Steeda Ultralites are the best bet for me because I want to...

Not have a harsh ride.
Have my car be able to be aligned properly.
Not have to purchase an other suspension part
LOWER THE CAR!

Agree?

I agree! You can properly align your car with any of the spring kits out there but I do believe they can align the ultralights with out the camber bolts.
You will like it

You can get the Eibach Pro's (FRPP branded) from LRS for 159.00. Add $17.95 for the bolts and you have one hell of a deal. The cheapest I've found and plan on ordering mine on Payday

As far as the Bump steer kit goes, I think mostly very aggressive and road racers will benefit. Just my 2 cents. Glenn, how many washers do you have on top?
I would be a little worried about Firestone doing the alignment and correcting the bump steer correctly.
