Dual Stripes with a Blackout Panel

Calling on anyone that has done this, or pondered it.

With a new job having started recently, and more money to spend on the GT, I have been pondering removing my current stripes, going with wider ones. (12" each) from chin spoiler to rear bumper but also considered going with a blackout panel for the area between the taillights.

Does anyone have an idea on looks? Photoshopped pic perhaps? I am needing to get an idea/tally of what people think. I have mixed opinions on it.

Stripes front to back, with the blackout panel, or without? Tacky? Different?

Aside from the inability to make up my mind on a CS/GT Rear bumper (really a lack of finding a good price) I am set on buying a vinyl kit soon. I already bought the stripe remover.

Everyone has different tastes, and for me, I didn't think that would look good.
I went with very wide stripes on the hood only, with pinstripes as well.
And I'm sure there are some out there that don't like my choice.

It's ultimately up to you what looks good.

It all depends on the colors you go with. If you were to go with black stripes, then I would say don't do it because they would be to overpowering along with the blackout panel, but if you did something like white/gray/or a silver variation of stripes it would look pretty good because the stripes and the blackout panel are not clashing with each other for attention.

I have this combo on my car and all though it is a different color than yours, here's some pics of what it looks like on mine.

I really want to replicate my 99 GT I had, 35th Anniv. with the honeycomb blackout panel.

I also considered the Foose Stripe kit with the wider stripes, going off the fender to the GT badge or the single flat black hood blackout kit from Baltimore Street Mods.

Man choices choices. Can someone PShop that for me though? Dual stripes with the blackout panel on the above photo?

P.S. - Vista, were the SHR Flush Mount louvers a pain to install? I considered that mod also.

I have them also and did the install myself. The install's not a pain just alittle time consuming. The instructions they come with are good and are enough to do the job.

I would say go for the wider stripe and as for the blackout, play with it.

I originally wanted wide black stripes front to back covering both bumpers. but after allot of thought i decided on this. wide ss style stripes just wraping the spoiler with a flat black painted blackout. I also had a custom positive made for masking the horse on the back since i de-badged the car, but figured this might add a little something different and broaden the options a bit.

Hey Humboldt Stang , That looks great like that !! I am trying to figure out what I want on my Redfire. I was thinking of a '69 BOSS style like in the pic I have attached. But I may go with your scheme.... I wonder what it would look like with a shaker scoop???

No pain at all. Of course I had the dealer install them. From what I've heard and read it's not too bad, just time consuming. Like JonCo stated above.

After discussing it with the GF, there's already a silver GT with wider dual stripes here in town. We pondered this:

And blackout panel. Man the options are killing me. We just may do something different. If we don't like it, hell the stripes are cheap enough we could start over.

I like the Foose stripes, they look pretty good. I also like the super stripe, as long as it is full length.

Since your stripes are black, I'd say go for it. I think it'll look good.
