Not thrilled with my wheels...

Hello all;

This is my first post so be gentle.

I have an '05 GT that I wanted to upgrade. So I went with Steeda Pentars with 275/40x18. The stance and fit are all good, but I'm disappointed with look of the wheels. They just aren't "tech" enough for me.

So, I'm looking for a hub-centric 18x9.5" wheel, with a 45mm offset.

Any suggestions?

Walt

Walt- its kinda hard to suggest appearance mods, because what some people like, other people don't. I would suggest maybe going to a site like Discount Tire and searching thru the wheels section to view what all is out there.....

Good luck!

Thanks guys...

I guess my biggest issue is finding a fair selection of wheels that measure 9.5w x18.

Shelby has the cs56, but that's too retro. Then there's always ccw, or some of the other "boutique" builders that will put something together, but at a price.

I'll post some pics on the "show us your wheels" thread next week.

Why do you need 18x9.5" rims when the 275 width tires will fit a 18x9" rim and give you alot more choices.?

Like Pantera said, an 18X9 will give you the same tire size but alot more choices for wheels

That makes sense; my initial concern was not wanting to "shoehorn" the tire on the rim. I'm also concerned about the whole hub-centric vs. lug-centric thing and the 45mm offset. So far, the only products out there that I know of, that addresses these points are Steeda, Shelby, Saleen and Roush.

I took pics on Saturday and I have to admit it looks pretty good; I also like the stance they have with the FFRP lowering springs.

BTW, They are silver Pentars, and pictures should be up Tuesday.

Here's a a pretty flattering pic... Tell me what guys you think. The rear panel is SHR and it has Flowmaster Axle backs. The car is lowered 1.5" W/the Ford Racing springs...

Yea I know... Maybe I'm just being too picky about the details. While I was washing it and was taking the pictures, I realized that they look pretty cool. I guess I'll keep them. As for the color of the car? I didn't choose it, it chose me.

Thanks all for the input!

Those are good looking wheels, even if they don't have a lip on them.

Actually, I was trying to stay away from the "lip" look and keep a more of a contemporary (sp) theme. I had painted Bullits on my '01 V6 and wanted to do something modern. I guess these capture that vibe after all.
