Differences between Shelby GT/GT500 and GT/CS Rear Fascia?

I believe I have seen this posted before and from what I recall isn't the Mustang GT/CS rear fascia avaialble for around $350.00?

While the Shelby GT/GT 500 rear is around $700 if I'm not mistaken.

What are the main styling differences between these two?

And did most people who ordered the GT/CS fascia get a good deal by just going to their local dealer and ordering as opposed to internet or mail order?

Thanks in advance

Style-wise, the only difference between the GT/CS and GT500 rear bumpers is the pre-painted black area. On the GT500 it's the whole bottom section below the break, on the sides and back. On the GT/CS it's just the back section where the diffusers are, and around the exhaust cutouts. These areas come pre-painted black and masked off from Ford.

It's my understanding those areas aren't painted they are just plain black plastic, just like the V6 rocker moldongs or the side view mirrors.

One post I read said the plastic on the sides of the GT/CS is the same color as the rest of the bumper whereas the diffuser section is the above mentioned black color. While the GT500 sides don't match the bumper, they match the diffuser. None of it is paint though.

When I bought my GT/CS rear I thought the only difference between the two was the texture on the bottom side (the unpainted area on the GT500's). I had thought the GT/CS has a smoother texture but when I got it mine had the rough texture as well. I went to the local ford dealer and checked out the GT/CS's they had and they all had the rough texture on the bottom as well, it's just painted on the GT/CS.

I think they are the same.

I've seen that rough texture on the GT/CS you're talking about and I just thought it was done that way for protection from road debris like a ot of cars are.
It didn't look like the texture of the rocker mouldings to me.

Stangnut, the lower area is painted. When mine arrived they had covered over the painted section somewhat, but it had to be fixed a bit before we painted the rest of the bumper. The bumper itself was dark gray, but the lower center section that was taped over was definitely black, painted, darker than the raw plastic.

Was the diffuser section done the same way as the sides?

Yes, the diffuser section is painted black on all rears, but the sides are painted black only on the GT500 part numbers.
