Is this a replacement or overlay grille?

I sent an e-mail to Moss Mustang, but they haven't replied yet... So, do you think it's a replacement grille?

The full billet grille removes the factory fog lights giving your GT a sleek look. The unique bolt-in design requires no cutting or drilling. Grilles are CAD designed and hand TIG welded in a CNC milled fixture insuring aerospace quality tolerances. Carriage Works forms and machines all billet grilles from 6061 T6 solid aluminum, not extruded “E” channel like lesser quality brands.

Replacement.

If the stock grille was still there you'd be able to see the edge of it like you can on the cheaply done Shelby GT.

Oh man, Good find! I was thinking that this is the same grille as the foose as both have 12 horizontal bars but they look different in the lower outside corners. On the foose, the lower 2 bars seem to be more indented than on the moss.

FYI the Cervini has 15 bars, Shelby GT has 13 and CDC has 9 horiztonal bars

We may have a winner for project B-25. Either Moss one or the Shelby GT one (if they ever come out with that replacment grille). I like the CDC but the bars are a little too wide for the look I'm going for.

Sorry, Mark. I don't think it's Fosse.
If I'm looking at it right, there seems to be another bar along the bottom.
Also, look how Foose's bars are more squared off one the ends. They also look thicker.

Yeah I agree. I came to the same conclusion and edited my post accordingly. Probably while you were reading my original post.

Mr. Michael Grant from Moss Motors replied to my e-mail with the following:

Thank you for your inquiry.

The 057-192 Billet Grille is an insert that replaces the plastic honeycomb insert in the grille shell. The factory grill insert and the driving lights in the grille are removed completely.

The attached PDF is a scanned copy of the manufacturer's instructions. It should answer any other questions you may have about the grille.

Attach lights to billet grille with pre-fastened hardware
Sounds like the fog lights can be mounted behind the billet grille.

I'm ordering mine in black right now, but shipping all the way from CA to Europe means I won't have it for at least 2 weeks. Anyway, I don't plan to keep the fogs, so if someone else gets theirs before me, post some pics pls!

Mine is on the way, I should have it before the weekend, hopefully I can install it on Sat. or Sun. I'll try to take pics of the entire installation process.

After seeing what is most likely Fords blank honeycomb grille, I am hoping this will fill the front and get rid of the 'overbite' look of the stock hood/grille opening.

question....if I get a gt bumper. Can I put this in there w/o using a stock gt grille? or do I need to get a full replacement billet like the cdc.

I would think any would work. The only thing different between the two cars is the bumper, the rad support would be the same. A couple of us ordered them, so we'll see what's what in a few days. I guess Louie and I are the guinea pigs on this one.
