Difference between V6 and GT grille?

Can anyone tell me what the differences are in shape and mounting between the V6 and GT front grilles?

There is a new aftermarket grille on ebay that I like the look of, but it is made for V6 cars...would I be able to make it fit my GT?

Picture it with a tri-bar pony emblem to the side

Well that ain't gonna happen...I know I've seen GT's with the pony package grille, so it has to be possible.

It's only possible with some modifications and you'd have to put up with some large gaps around the edges. What you might have seen was the webelectricproducts.com aftermarket corral and bars that attaches to the GT grille. http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?t=40543

Aslo, the tabs that hold the grille in place are in different locations for the GT & V6 so you'd have to cut holes in your GT bumper for the V6 tabs to slide into. Another difference (other than the foglights) is the size of the honeycombs. They are smaller on the V6 than on the GT. So the V6 has more of them. Doesn't really matter for this application, but not too many people know that.

Next time you see a pony package grille look real close because that's a whole different grille from the other 2. It has HUGE honeycombs compared to either the GT or the standard V6. Yes, there are actually 3 completely different grilles for the Mustang... 4 if you include the GT500.

Here's a pic from over a year ago when no one had any idea if this grille would really make it onto the '06 model. A TMS exclusive spy shot.

Oh yeah. One thing I forgot to mention is I tried emailing that company 4 times over several weeks to ask them about that grille since in the title of one of their auctions it's listed as being for a GT or V6. I asked which model it fit since it wasn't possible it could fit both. After almost a month they finally answered and said it fit the GT also. I HATE stupid people.

Also, I wouldn't trust that company because they have at least 3 different names they go by on eBay.

FYI: I just got one of those for my V6 (one without the fog lights). It looks really nice, but the seller is falsely advertising the one without fogs as a "stainless steal" grille. Well, it's not steal at all ... it's plastic. Just like the stock grilles.

It still looks very nice, though. And plastic does have some benefits over black-coated metal. For one, the black won't chip off if a stone or rock hits it. So it won't lose it's color.

Just don't buy it thinking it's steal, because it's not.

Not yet. But I can take some a little later today and post them here afterwards. Stay tuned ...

Edit: Here are some pics. Sorry about the poor lighting. It's a cloudy, raining day today.

Not sure about the emblem. If I do add one, it will probably be the one you're refering to. I like the look of that tri-bar pony on the Cervinis grille. Not sure how it would look on this one though. Maybe I'll have to do a photoshop of it ...

Thanks for the replies guys, I think I'll wait until the price of them comes down some so if I end up destroying it trying to make it fit I wont be so upset.

I really like that grille.
I'd love it if they made one for the GT. I'd have to cut out out every other "bar" though to give it the look of a '66 Shelby.
