Decal Removal

I need to remove the Black "Mustang" decals from the sides of my Satin Silver 2005 Mustang.
I just got back from a body shop that specializes in collision repair (I was not in an accident) and they wrote me up an estimate for $120 (3 hours) to do the work.
(1) Is removing the decals, without doing damage, something easy that I could do myself? If so, how?
(2) Is $120 to have the decals removed professionally a good price?
Thanks for the input. BTW, if anybody's wondering, I'm not knocking the decals. I think they're OK, but I didn't want them originally and in my line of work sometimes I have to entertain customers. I have a very young looking face and co-workers sometimes joke that I look like I'm in highschool... so, in my situation, having a car with big black letters on the side that say "Mustang" tends to contribute to that image and detract from the beauty of the car.

I haven't done this, so you may want more opinions, but I believe that you can just peel them off yourself. Maybe loosen them with a hair-dryer first, then just peel away! If there is some adhesive residue, that can be removed with any of the "goo-gone", mineral spirits, or other cleaners. It should be no big deal, and leave no marks on the paint, either. Do not pay to have this done unless you just aren't the DIY type. 3 hours!? Others may have different ideas...
