cutting stock springs
I had a thread bookmarked where somebody had cut their stock springs. I have done the rears and want to do the fronts but cannot remember if i need to cut off of the bottom or the top of the spring. Can someone help?

Bullitts right on! I've been running on cut springs for 4 months now and I can't imagine it any other way! I did 1 coil off the front (bottom) and 1.5 coils off the rear (top) to leave a little forward rake in my car's stance. I think it looks the way it should have come from the factory now.
Just remember, this will require about $500 of alignment work to get it back within tolerances. There's another thread about alignment, and I will tell you, that getting a technician who cares will save you problems down the road. The fronts are a PITA to realign (may require notching the control arm). However, my tech here in DC got me to 0.1" tolerances on all four wheels, so it was well worth it (waaaay tighter than ford specs)

I don't think so. Anyhow you change the geometry of the car you would have needed the alignment, so whatever kit you use is going to wack out your wheels. Just a fact of physics. I know many folks will say they had no problem, but if you put their car on the alignment rack, they may be sadly mistaken.....

Camber bolts are only $25 (plus alignment labor) and usually all that's needed to bring the front end back into specs.

Yeah, I cut 2 from the rear and 1 from the front and I had my alignment done for $60. I helped the guy do it so I know it was back within spec.
In fact, only going down an inch in front really doesn't change the alignment that much unless it was already marginal. The Pro Kit takes it down more aggresively.
For a step by step with pictures of the lowering, check my cardomain.
