Color of Bumpers Under Paint

Can anyone tell me the color of the plastic bumpers under the paint? I want to paint the bumpers in hot rod black, but if they'll already flat black I'm good. Any ideas on how to strip the paint?

Yes they are flat black plastic.

One reason why white is so hard to match on body metal vs bumper plastic.

Paint it the HR010. You'll be much happier with it, as the plastic, while black, is not terribly consistent looking.

I know this for I have done it to Awesome. There was no way that nasty black of the plastic on the rear GT/CS/GT500 bumper was going to stay without painting, both the HP white as well as the SEMA HR010 Hot Rod Black. So much nicer lookin' in Satin than in Flat/natural.

here is an oem bumper. while it is flat black, i agree, not consistent enough to just leave it.

Pretty much. Sanding is the way to go. Seriously labor intensive tho.

Yep. Once painted, you either get a new bumper and start over, or you sand it down and correct it, then shoot it again, with a new coat of sealer primer.

Bumpers can't be taken back down to raw except 'physically', with elbow grease and sanding materials, lest you burn the plastic with the chemicals and just make that much more work out of it. What gets rid of paint/bondo/filler/primer will also kill the plastic.
