Lenses seem like a good buy, but $60 for bulbs?!?!? I understand that it completes the look, but couldn't you buy yellow ones and spray paint (just one coat to hide) them white or silver?

The Stealth bulbs are a little steep, but I couldn't find anything comparable for less. They sure look good though and they do have a lifetime guarantee.

Woo Hoo !

Xmas in FEB. Got mine today.

1) Clear lenses . . . check
2) Stealth 3157 bulbs . . . check
3) Stealth "style" 194 bulbs . . . check
4) time to lay on the ground for an hour and change it all out . . . RAIN-check

Hopefully, I get pics and install them in the next few days.

Not sure where you guys are seeing $60 for the chrome/mirror 3157's, but I bought these for a buddy's Lightning in December and they look great on and off. If/when smoked corner markers come out for the S197, I'll get the bulbs from this guy as well.

Ok now someone try those bulbs out

Dave why dont you get the clear and get the tinted overlays? I would bet with the corners clear like the headlights and fogs, tinted overlays would all match

Well FFW and NMRA are coming up here pretty quick in this area, if a vendor at either one has a set of the clear corners, I'll snag a set. I figure, what, 20% tint on them would look cool, maybe 28%. Mirror bulbs and voila If I'm able to get a set I'll post pics.

what color do you think they'll show if you do clear lense but then tint it? Bottom line, is it worth buying clear ones (with amber bulbs) and then tinting them vs. keeping the stock ones and then tinting them? I don't see the point of the clear side markers if you are going to tint them

Even tinted the stock side markers still show some amber through them. I am talking about with the lights off. I just think the clear corners would have the same look as the other lights with the overlays...rather than having the corner lights still look amber.

For those who already have these, is there room to drill out the small hole and put in a larger, wedge-base socket?

These lenses were pretty much an exact copy of the amber lenses. So I would guess you could do anything to them that you would've done to the amber ones?

Well after seeing the pictures of the black with the clear lenses I have made up my mind and am ordering them. I thought they would look out of place on black and was hoping someone would post a pic of these for us guys with the black cars- looks good IMO

Clear Lenses installed - Torch Red

Took about 45 min on one side, 20 min on the other, I wanted to be very careful so I wouldn't "screw" anything up.

It was "Too Easy"

Here's pics:

1) BEFORE
2) DURING - with parking lights on
3) AFTER
4) Close-up

Part 2 -

Pics in my previous post didn't line up with my explanation, but you can see what I meant.

Here's more:

1) Kit & Bulbs
2) Corner - Amber
3) Corner - Clear
4) Mount

When removing and installing - Be careful with the inner mount tab. Once you pinch the 2 x white holder things to disconnect the outer end, you have to swing the lens assy way out to get the tab to come out of the inner side slot. Apparently the TAB is curved. So take care not to force it (possibly breaking it off).

Looks VERY nice!! I really like these lenses on all colors I've seen!!! We might even win over some of those "rice comment" guys.

As a side note, I also like your front spoiler - so much I order one myself!! Should have it this week, and off to get painted......

Cool ! I love that Classic Spoiler.

I'm having "Cracking" problems though. Upper mount on both sides have cracked off, but it still is on there tight. Also have "Growing cracks" coming from the same place. Also have a crack forming on by the lower grille area. Not sure if the wife "bumped" or not, she claims she hasn't.

Good Luck - you get one shot with the double-sided tape during install - use a buddy!

PS - one of my mount tangs was already cracking when I got it, but being overseas it is too much hassle (and cost), to a get replacement.

Was it really that easy? Release the white pressure clips, swing it out, replace? Anything else have to be removed?

What's the answer on legality of these things for street use (as long as you have amber bulbs)?

I jacked up the side of the car about 4 inches and removed 5 x wheel well cowling screws (and wheel welll forward cover).

Yes - Too easy
