Can anyone definitively say if the MRTs look any different on the GT than the Ford tips?

Here are the options as I see them - let me know if I am missing something obvious. (thanks for the help everyone)

1) MRT

MRT Rolled Exhaust Tips

2) Ford Accessories Exhaust tip:

3) Magnaflow SS Exhaust Tips

Magna Flow Double Wall Tips -
T-304 Stainless Steel Tips Installed By Professionals (does this mean it needs to be welded?). MagnaFlow's Polished Stainless Steel tips will last 5 times longer than chrome tips. These super tough tips will continue to shine for years to come with a lifetime warranty against defects.

I wonder if there is any truth to this last claim. It sort of makes sense since chrome is a surface covering (I think) while stainless steel is the same through and through. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

If anyone has a set of tips for sale (for a GT) after upgrading to a new exhaust let me know if you want to sell them.

Thanks,

Big difference is MRT tips are larger diameter than Ford aftermarket. They seem to fill cutouts much better. That's why I went with them. I had a chance to put them on (at the MRT shop) and see them on my vehicle before I purchased them. Very happy with the purchase!

I love the look. Did you go with the clamp or weld? If you went with the clamp how visible is it?

I think I am sold. They are the ones I link to in my post above - correct?

Since I don't have easy access to a garage or mechanically inclined person the next challenge is to find someone that can weld these on (if the clamp is very visible). Welding might be better anyway, because it could deter people from using parts from my car to mod their own car (without permission ) . It also seems like a clamp could vibrate loose over time.

I miss living in Michigan where everyone either is a car person or is related or friends with someone who is. I wonder if a muffler here shop would do it?

Thanks

I am using the clamps. Not visible from the rear and holds very well. No need to weld in my opinion. They are the exact same ones that you linked to earlier in high chrome finish.

BTW, Go Blue!! Love the avatar. Great victories over State & Wisconsin this week.

Mike, when you bolt these down they are not going anywhere. The only way someone could see the clamp is if they got down to eye level. Our Ford Parts man on this forum is Kevin, and he can fix you up for a few dollars more.
