I'm interested in replacing the stock exhaust tips on my '05 GT with some better looking rolled tips (similar to what came stock on the '01 Bullitt & '03-'04 Mach I), but I'm not interested in getting a new exhaust system (mufflers). I like the sound of the stock exhaust.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to purchase rolled exhaust tips?

I found some chrome exhaust tips for sale on the website for Ford Accessories. I think this is what I might be looking for. It states that they are for the V6 & GT, and the tip slides over the tailpipe. I'm not sure if these are the tips that come standard on the GT, or if they are rolled and a little thicker (which is what I'm looking for). Has anyone looked into these tips for their '05 GT?

Thumbs down

I would love to know if these exhaust tips from the Ford accessory catalog actually are an improvement over the stock configuration. If they are then I can have the look of aftermarket exhaust without the hassle and cost of a full-on replacement.

If anyone installed these please post. Before/After pics would seal the deal

Thanks in advance! :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

I had them on mine. I really liked them. They look beefy'er. Bigger around, nicely chromed, and stick out further than the stock. Quality is nice. If there was anything I didnt like about them was the big clamp that secures it to the stock muffler. But you cant see it unless you bend way down and look.

I got Flowmaster mufflers for Christmas so I took my FA tips off and sold them.

I dont have a good before picture, but you know what the before looks like. Here is a picture with them on the car.

Again, I really liked them! You wont be disappointed!

I put a set on my 05 Black GT. Ithink they look realy good. They slide on all the way and touch the the tips of the original tips. They barely stickout past the bumper.Clamps on with a nice wide strap clamp tucked up under the rear bumber cover.Didn't have my camera with me so no pic's.Car is put away in a garage until April.

When I had stock exhaust I had a set of the Ford tips. They looked good, no complaints about them other than the fact that they were attached to factory mufflers

I have them as well, I think they look awesome. and since I love the way the stang sounds now, so I am keeping them rather than change out for something like flowmasters. I dont have a pic right now but I can maybe take one tonite.

I have a pair of Ford exhaust tips I'll sell for $50 plus shipping. I recently put on Magnaflow axlebacks. These have just 2500 southern miles on them, no snow or salt. PM me if interested.

I have a set I got from KC. They look good except for the big clamp but you have to look down under the car to see that.

Yes, go with the MRT's. Very high quality piece that looks great! 3.5" dia is perfect for the openings.

Are the MRT's tapered? That seems like the only real difference between the two.

The only thing I could think of would be that it could be a warranty issue. That seems far fetched but I can't think of any other reason they (Ford) would care.

I've seen some invoices from dealerships with the tips added and the invoice actually is adjusted with them on it.
