I've had the spoiler on for about a year now. The first guy I took it to did an awful paint job, but he second guy did it right. It is large, but it covers the holes for the stock GT spoiler and I really love the looks of it from the back.

wow, very beautiful. would you think it would be good if i had it molded to the body so it looks like thats what the car came with? i think that would look sweet dont you? Plus where you get your stripes(vinyl?) and where did you get your taillight blackouts?

i have been thinking about the tail and headlight blackouts but i dont know if it would be a problem with cops. Do they bother you alot for having them?

It would be awesome to get it molded to the body but extremely difficult to say the least. The vinyl stripes came from Baltimore Street Mods and I self installed them. (baltimorestreetmods.com) The taillights blackouts came from American Muscle, they are the GTS brand. (americanmuscle.com)

I will drive in the daylight with the headlight blackouts and have never had a problem. I remove them for night driving. Very easy to do. The taillight blackouts I won't drive with day or night. I just used them for pictures. My fear is having an accident and the assocaitaed liability of having difficult to see brake lights getting me sued. So I don't press my luck by driving with those.

The only way to mold in the spoiler ,would be if it is made out of fiberglass, and not ABS plastic.I don't have the Cervinni ,so I'm not sure what it is made out of. I molded in mine ,but it is the BBR one. Hopefully the Cervinni is fiberglass.lol

Thanks buddy, i will also limit my use with the blackout. My car is not a daily driver, so yes i am going to be brave and drive with them everynow and then. But like you said, i will try not to press my luck too much at least

Good job with your mods, your car looks like a beast!

But be careful about the difference between having it done, and having it done right. Do a lot of research and take it to someone who KNOWS what they're doing and will back it up w/ an acceptable and written guarantee. That's not something to have done just anywhere.

I was about to post a thread asking about taillights and headlight covers. I was wanting to know how much light they let shin through. I was wondering about the safety myself.

The GTS models I have let probably 1/2 the light through. I am considering taillight tinting by a local body shop. The blackout covers are just too dark. The headlights I run in the daytime and have never had a problem. I like the headlight black outs a little better than the taillight ones just because the really make the front look good.

Yes and make sure the body shop preps, prime, paint and clear coat the backside of the ducktail where the 3M tape is applied. According to Phil at Cervini the back side needs to be painted for proper adhesion for the 3M tape. Also test fit and do any sanding prior to getting the ducktail painted. Cervini states "insist on the BEST, the difference is the FIT" however that is not the case since every car IS different!.

Anyway, make sure the body shop reads and FOLLOWS the prep directions from Cervini to a tee, every body shop I went to either didn't bother reading it because they know what they are doing or just skimmed over it to humor me.

My duck tail back side was not prepped or painted and I had to take it back already due to it bubbling. Best part is, there is another bubble starting to form.
My 1/4 panel louvers paint job looks good but the backside only got primed.

I don't know if Cervini products are really that hard to paint or 90% all body shops just suck???

With that being said, I love the look of this duck tail

Show gt has his ducktail spoiler for sale its vista blue but you could paint it would be much easier than painting raw urethane I know I have the cervini front chin spoiler and all the prep work is a pain if you do paint the raw one look at SEM products they work great.

I'm not sure if urathane can be molded,I know fiberglass can,I just don't know where you can get just the urathane resin, remember the fiberglass resin will adhere to bare metal, but not sure how urathane will reacted to the metal.A fiberglass sqeegee is a type of plastic urathane and once the fiberglass resin dries on it,you can peel it away, because the fiberglass resin doesn't stick to the plastic. Maybe there is a totally different method on molding urathane.Hopefully I'm wrong, good luck and let us know the results.
