Hey,
I am looking at a fake hood scoop for my 05 Vert. I have done a search and found where there was a poll on the different hood scoops available back then and it looked like Roush got #1 and the CDC got #2. I am kinda partial to the CDC scoop. But I can't find where anyone ever bought and installed a CDC scoop. Any one out there got one and what do you think of it now. Any down sides? I know there are going to be those who will say go with the shaker. I agree it's great but taxes are coming so I don't have the funds. DARN!!!
Thanks Scott

Since you are partial to Mach's, save up and get the CDC shaker.

Ian,
I know in my heart you are really right on!!!!!!!! I keep telling the wife how good the 05 would look with the shaker. Got a shaker on the 70 Mach. It would really look good to sit them side by side. Okay,
I am going to resurect this thread and change it. I really, really wanted a CDC shaker hood like Don W's and Adrenelin's but thought the tax man was going to be real mean to me this year. So I wanted to do something on my hood and settled for the CDC smooth hood scoop. However, taxes are as bad as I thought so I am going for the SHAKER HOOD. I have read about everything on this forum about it I could find but want to as 2 questions to the guys that already have the CDC shaker hood scoop.
1. Any down sides after you have had it for awhile?
2. Is the only place you can get it is from CDC direct for $795 or can it be had cheaper elsewhere??
WOOOHAAAAA!!!!!

Good choice, Scott.. the shaker is suhweet!! The only downside (and it's minor) is that if you need to get under it for any (like to get to the plugs, for example), you have to remove it, and at the track it traps heat under the shroud a little more than without it. But, my e-H2O pump and fan switch cured that problem. Of course, now that I have the SC, I trimmed a lot of the shroud away, so even that isn't an issue for me. Can't help you on #2... I bought mine way back in late July, and you could only get them from CDC then.
