Correct - it is not an intake.

The air inlet from the factory (usually) draws cold air from inside of the fender well - out of view. This has two purposes - one being to avoid drawing warm air from the engine compartment and the second is to help baffle the intake sound.

Cowl induction is actually a better method of gaining a ram air effect. At high speeds there is an air pressure bubble that forms at the base of the windshield (by the wipers).

But the speeds necessary to make a significant gain are higher than you can drive normally. So the cowl induction hoods you see on street cars are more for looks, or maybe some added clearance for some tall engine goodies.

Fang performance has joined forces with profinish-proglass. The hood was designed and produced by profinish-proglass. We have made our own shaker system to channel air to the air box. Profinish-proglass has been a distributor of CDC parts for about 4 years. We will be selling parts but our thrust is to do conversions for customers and dealers (tuner cars). The 05 mustang is our main focus. Us and CDC will be selling a shaker hood that is compatible with the CDC shaker system. We will also be selling the CDC shaker system. We will also be selling a different version of the shaker hood that will be matched to our shaker system. Pictuers of the black GT will be posted on the website after the Columbus meet. This is the first package we are offering. Many more packages will be coming in the very near future.

You said you will be installing these units. Where are you located and how long of an install? If I purchased the unit ahead you could have the hood painted ahead of time so when the install begins that would already be done. I do like what CDC is doing with the engine apperance but like the hood on your web site with the twist locks. Can't wait.

Thanks for taking the time to post this info 427gte.
Alot of us here have been eagerly waiting on news about the Shaker System.
I'm assuming from your post that customers will be able to purchase direct from Fang performance /profinish-proglass?
And will the Shaker Hood be availible in paint?

Our shaker design has a really cool engine shroud with nice detail. The chrome strips you are referring to are the door jam sill plates. Open the door on your GT and look down. Stay posted for more detail. Thanks Shawn.

Ah, clever using the door jam sill plates. Anxious to see what the final product looks like. I was going to order the CDC shaker system but I find that the scoop looks to small on the new mustang.

Yes, you will be able to buy directly from fang performance. At this time we are not going to ship painted parts. It is very difficult to get an accurate match without the car being persent. We will also need to place the twist locks. The body mount is tricky to get in the right spot.

The shaker top is the same size I believe as Mach I and Boss cars. The new version of the shaker hood has the opening moved back 4 inches. I changes the whole appearance of the front of the car. It makes the nose of the car look longer.

We just returned from the Columbus Ohio Ford swap meet where we redebut the 05 Fang since returning from SEMA. Now with the Shaker moved back farther on the hood. Our new shaker system and engine cover. New front chin spoiler and new rear tail spoiler. The response to the new designs were overwhelmingly positive. On Sat there were so many people around the car all day that some came back Sun to pick up our flyer and get a better look since they couldn'yt close enough Sat. We have many emails coming in already with owners and soon to be owners wanting to get on the list. Our web sight is now up and running with our Brochure. On it is an email link and a phone number. Please go to www.fangperformance.com and email or call. I will be updateing our web sight in the next week or so with pictures and prices. Thanks for your patience in waiting for this system. Will there be a V6 Shaker? Also, do you have any pictures of the rear spoiler?
