Umm...good luck to all who actually go through with this, to be honest I would not trust ANY one enough with my car to do that install.

Like autothing said, I dont know how practical it would be. Yes it looks really nice IMO, but everytime I've been in a car with just a sunroof or moonroof, i usually end up closing it because of glare or the position of the sun beating down into my eyes. Now, if it had an optional shade, it would be much better IMO.

Someone really should come out with a kit for a targa top. IMO it wouldnt be too hard or expensive, because they would just need to line the underside of the roof panel, and create some sort of latching system that would be quick. That is of course assuming you didnt mind having the door frame still there. You could problably use the existing roof panel.

If I was to spend that much on such an option, I'd definitely go for the Saleen top.

Hey Beth, Hope this helps you post some pics. What you want to do to post pictures, it to load them onto your computer, and make sure that you reduce the size of the image. All my digi pics are 1280X960, or something like this. I right click on the pic, and go to edit, then sketch/skew, and use 50% for both. This shrinks the image to half the size, perfect to post pics. Then, below the "submit reply button" is a second box, called "Additional Options". Tehn you'll see a link in a section called "attach Files". You can click on the button called "Manage Attachments" Click on that button, and a window will open. In that window, you'll see 5 empty windows to post links or file names, with a button after each window that says "Browse". Click on the Browse button, which may or maynot take you to the "My Pictures" of your computer. If it does, just find the pics of your Glassback roof, and double click on the pics you want to post. When you do, you'll see the file in the window, then hit the "Upload File" When you scroll down, the picture file will be in that same "Attach Files" section. If its there, the picture will load. I'm sorry if I got too technical, but this should get you able to post the pics. Hope this helps. I can't wait to see the pictures.

Glassback

I saw this in person at Tulsa Mid America meet last week. It is certainly interesting. I did not really care for it from the outside (personal taste). It was pretty slick from inside the cockpit looking skyward. I would recommend before you spend your $$$ you see this item in person at a show or dealer. This item is hard to judge from a photograph (IMHO).

I need to get a part time job for more money. I still want about $1500 dollars worth of under hood custom painting, about $3,000 for front and rear big brake kits and that still leaves me with a stock stereo. It just goes to show you that your car is never perfect or complete.

Is the "Glass Roof" Issue Dead? I mean am I the only person who has bought this option and submitted pictures? It doesn't look like CDC is going to sell enough of these to keep them going. I really l like mine with the glass roof though.

I have some questions about the Glassback panel. My local Ford dealer is an authorized dealer:

1. Price for the Glass back?
2. Install cost?
3. Can it be rolled in the price of the new car and financed?

I saw one at my local dealer recently, they were asking $4000 for it on top of the price of the car, not sure of the cost/install cost breakdown though. I'm sure it can be financed in to the cost of the car. One thing to mention however is that it has wide black moldings that go all the way around the top and down each side of the fast back. The moldings are not shiny, they are textured black and are quite visible compared to a coupe with a metal top. On a dark colored car they wouldn't be nearly as noticeable.

I'd like to see what one looked like on a black Mustang myself, the one I saw was installed on a Silver GT and looked ok, black would be much better though.

I saw one in black at the Sept. Central PA show in Hershey.

I saw the trim around the top but didn't realize it had the glass until I was looking at the interior and glanced up.

Looked almost stock on black.
