CDC Foose Hood, Painted Light Buckets, Horz Grill... Nice
After I got in an accident with some front end damage, I took the opportunity to make some mods. Appearance-wise, I was able to find a Chip Foose/CDC hood for cheaper than a stock hood, I also had the shop paint the headlight buckets. I Love the new hood along with the shaker scoop!
This is before I re-installed my horizontal grill and '69 emblem.

No trim ring necessary with the Foose/CDC hood, cleaner line.

As a comparison, I had an old picture without the hood and painted light buckets, and re-took the same shot now for comparison. The hood does not show up as well, but the light buckets do. There was different light, so I could not match the colors between the pictures.

Looks great! I painted the buckets on my stock headlights, but I've gotta tell you...I recommend that everyone who wants to do this use aftermarket (like DEPO) headlights. The sealant on the stockers is ridiculous...I don't even know how I actually got the lights open in the end!
Mine were Vista Blue.

Kluski.. I love your car. I've said it before and I'lls ay it again. What kills me is the fact I have been looking at that hood (mius) the shaker and that headlight design myself. And now I can't do it because it'll really look like I'm copying you. LOL. But she is gorgeous and very inspirational.

Thanks DarkSide, I remember your comments and appreciate the admiration. In fact I remember your comment about 'Rise of the Phoneix' after my accident and have renamed my car The Phoenix. I have not seen many people with this combo, heck I think I have only seen a few people with the hood much less the headlights too. There is plenty of room in the club if you want to join.
I looked at this hood for a long time myself and never thought I would do it since it was expensive and meant removing a good hood. But after the accident, I found the CDC/Foose hood to be cheaper than a stock hood. And being all Aluminum, it has hard to pass up.
And for the headlights, I never noticed until I stood far back how it actually changes the 'shape" of the front end. It kind of looks like the the sides narrow inward a little more without them being black. Pulls my attention more to the center grill.
Cavero, I agree, I love the lines coming from the scoop down to the front edge.

Well I feel honored I helped you name (or rename) your beauty queen. I do admire your car and it is the inspiration for my own Retro build up. I'm very glad to see that you decided to bring her back from ruin and make her even more beautiful than before.
Best of luck with her!
