yes they can be painted people just like to see the carbon fiber since it cost $$$. I so one with a semi transparent red you could still see the weave but it had a red tint.

You could always paint your stock hood black, and pretend.

Seriously though, is a carbon fiber hood going to be much lighter that the stock aluminum and plastic one? I'm just curious of the weight difference.

Wet carbon fiber won't be worth the small weight savings over aluminum, IMO.

However, dry carbon fiber would, but it would cost quite a bit.

And yes, you can paint over it, you have different options, but I prefer completely painting over it so it looks like it is not CF.

well there is not many choices for hoods on the 05 and i want a cowl hood maybe something similar to the old cobra R hood; and the only one i could find that slightly resembled it was a carbon fiber one.

I saw two carbon hoods on ebay, one was a cowl hood and one was simliar to the cobra hood, just search 2005 Mustang in ebaymotors.com

and yes they can be painted, people just dont because they are retarded ricers and want everyone to know they spent the money on a hood to make their slow car lighter instead of spending it on parts to make it faster, you can also get ones that are color treated but still have the carbon look, Ive seen red, blue, and yellow, you can also get ones that are clear and you can see your engine.
