Can you have overkill on the running pony?
I have the tribar running pony on my centercaps, floormats and on the corner of my CDC ducktail. I was thinking of putting it on the side of the car and replacing the GT as some of you already have. (I need some how tos btw). Do you think that having the pony on all these different areas would be overkill?
The running pony emblems are my favorite on any mustang. With that being said, in my opinion, yes you can have too many. People know your car is a mustang without any emblems at all. There is no need to have a running pony every four inches to reinforce the already obvious point that it is a mustang. The center caps, they were probably your best option (they look alot better than the cheap looking snake emblems alot of people have) , and the floor mats dont really matteer as much becuase they are inside the car. I do like the pony emblems as oppsed to the gt emblems on the fenders though. I think they would be ok on the fenders, but I probably wouldnt add any more to the car.
That is MY personal opinion though, what really matters is what you like, and dont let anyone tell you diferently. Afterall, the car is gonna be parked in thier driveway at night.

With 3 running ponies on the sides of the new Pony edition, I thought that was enough. So much so that I am getting the tape strips deleted because it says "Mustang" in the middle of it. It is overkill in my opinion.
Isn't that the basic design language Tang introduced into the car? He made it simple and elegant. It's not loaded down with scoops and useless garbage. It gives owners like me a chance to enjoy a clean car and for those that like all of the adornments, they can opt to install them if they wish.
I'm personally all about Sleeper cars. My 66 is as clean as I could make it. I actually SUBTRACTED away from the stock look of the car to make it even more plain. Then I packed a tricked out 302 under the hood. You should see people's expressions when I pull up next to them! I haven't even put RIMS on the car yet! It's got the old faded hubcaps! The motor just RUMBLES, and people monkey out.
Granted my 05 is a V6, but if I had a GT, I would keep it just as stock as I want my V6 to look. There are some cool touches that can be added to the cars for a little personal touch, but I agree that you don't really need to overstate the obvious. Folks know what you've got, and adding extra banners that say mustang or running horse stickers and such is just more than you really need.
That's my take.

Well the GT emblem is already there and there are holes behind the badge or I would just remove it completely and go for that clean look that you mentioned. That being said I am thinking of replacing the GT badge with the running pony tribar or even a 4.6 badge if I could find a nice one that covers the existing holes. Here's one but I think it looks kind of cheap.
Yeah... I think I would go with the running horse. It's classic. Doubt it would fit correctly, but I'm also REALLY partial to the VINTAGE GT bage from the 65 stang. If I could put that on instead, I would - in a heart beat. Don't know if the holes would line up though. Doubtful they would.
