Can you fit a 295 tire on a 9.5" wheel?

He'll be able to squeeze them on, but I'd watch that offset. It's only 34mm and more appropriate for an SN95. If he doesn't get the rears widened properly, he'll scrape the rear fender edges, or could even be outside of fender itself (maybe).

The offset is fine but it would be ideal to run a 275 with that particular offset. The 285 will work also but you'll have a slight tire rub on the sidewall over speed bumps depending on how low your car is and the type of tire you choose.
A 295 will stick out pass the fenders.
I ran a set of 18x9.5 with a 35mm offset on 285's a few years back and this is how it was. Wished I would have taken pictures they would have come in handy right now.
The vendor with 19x11 asked me to call him on Tuesday, I'm hoping I can get a pre-production wheel in the correct offset, have fingers crossed.

Just got mine installed today. The tire fit just fine on the wheel. To me it looks less bulged than the 285 looked on the 18x10 if you can believe it.

They are the RTR wheels same as Stinger has in his 2011 5.0
They actually get ordered through CDC who is the distributor I guess. I saw them on Shaun's car and had him PM me the info. They were $1325 shipped, or $300 each without shipping.

I think you are right. It's not as bad as I thought, but it is evident when you look at it. A 25mm would have been perfect I think.
I guess this may be a stupid question but what will it feel like, or what evidence will I have if it is indeed rubbing whether its a little or alot?

I had a Camaro w/DD Cragars many years ago. I scraped the inner wells every time I hit a hard bump and it made a "whooshing" sound when it happened. You'll need to wait and see. You'll know it when it happens. When it does, check your tires for sidewall scrapes and the edge of your wheelwells for damage as well.
