Cam Cover Help

I recently removed and painted my cam covers in a ford grey and would like to add some sort of sticker or emblem to them to dress them up even further but I can't decide what to put on. Any suggestions?

Ira, Not really hard at all. Just be sure to pay close attention to all the wire connectors as you will have to unplug a bunch of stuff. Then you have to be sort of careful not to hit the camshafts on the way out. If you go slow and take your time you shouln't have any trouble at all.

Do any of you guys have any experience with placing a sticky back emblem to somthing as hot as a cam cover? I am wondering if the adhesive backing would detiorate with the added heat?

search here or in the GT performance forum, i remember someone who bought some metal sticker paper that a normal printer can print on and it will hold up to the engine heat, it said 281 3V which i am planning on doing but 300HP 281 3V

I personally would get them coated in Ford blue.

Here are a few I drew up in photoshop. Some original, some modified from other valve cover decals. Any good sign shop can print them for you on foil. I've had the red powered by 281 on my car for over a year, no problems. Feel free to use any of them for a pattern for sign company if you like them.
If you like something you see but want something changed like oh I dont know 4.6 for some odd reason Let me know and I can draw you oone up.

So I guess that most sign shops have this stuff readily available to do print work? I wonder what they charge? Couldn't be too steep I guess.

I think I'll keep it simple for now and go with some variation of the metal print work discussed above. Perhaps later on down the road though when I have nothing else to spend money on I may go the custom route. I really like the black covers with the flamed text showing thru. Those look killer.

I used Frod Racing decals on mine. I installed them while the valve covers were off and then I shot them with heat resistant clear coat. The decals were about $10 on Ebay.

I wrote up instructions on how to paint the covers also:
