i like it, but not enough to want to do it myself, just bugs me a little that the hood vents don't line up with the front fascia...

 

kris horton is the owner's name. he's an amazing car designer by day. check out his website. he has some nice concept designs.

 

You are right, they don't line up the same way the concept mustang did.

Is this the only person that ever did a conversion like this? do we have anybody else with this setup?

 

From what I have read the 500 hood will fit a gt but the 500 facia wont work with a gt style hood.

That had to be some major work to get it to fit right.

Guys with shelbys are *****ing because shelby is releasing the new KR hood but it is going to cost them 1800 bucks just for a hood that fits.

Myself I have gone with the Cervini KR style hood and a cheep chin spoiler till Saleen releases the PJ/Heritage facia for sale. It looks very similar to a 500 facia without the slanted section by the lights. Mine comes out of the paint shop this thursday and I will post pics.

I should be putting it back together tomarrow. I will post pics when its back together with the spoilers as well. Got a chin and duck tail. Waiting for the Saleen PJ/Heratige facia to come out. It is still pre order.

 

How about other people with the Cali Dream and the GT500 front? Anybody else?

+1. Im actually really excited about this hood. I may end up getting this hood by the end of the summer. Im really anxious to see the finish product.

 

I don't mind if he highjacks, not an issue at all! I just wanted more pics of the cali+GT500 setup, if there are any...

 

i'm going to post pix of mine soon-in about 2 weeks. doing my front end conversion with the cali dream hood in black.

however, i'm switching out to the race factory gt500 kr replica hood, but i'll take pix before i take the cali dream hood off so at least you'll have an idea of what it looks like in black.

Unless you are getting all the shelby parts a gt hood wont fit without alot of modification a GT Hood the dream hood is for a gt not a shelby 500 facia. the facia is taller in the middle part that is the reason the shelby hood has a rise in the center.

You could pay alot to have a shop modify it for you but a cheeper alternative is to go out and get a Saleen PJ/Heritage facia it is very similar to a gt 500 just doesnt slant and fits all the gt hoods like the KR i have and the dream hood you have spoke about.

Unless you have some really deep pockets that is the route I would go.

Absolutely beautiful. I was going to go this route with the GT500 conversion, rear spoiler, and Cervinis concept hood with ram air and hood pins.
