Burnt sequential harness
Anyone here with sequentials, specifically CDC look at your harnesses lately? A bulb went out so I changed it and noticed the harness as well as the bulb housing was burnt. Is this common?

Mine are burnt but not crispy! It looks from a little discoloration to burn. I'll snap a pic and post it of the bulb. That harness is too **** hard to get to with my sub box in the way.
I agree with ManEHawke...
I changed a taillight bulb on the F150 just last month and while I expected it I was still surprised by the black/brown char on the socket. Probably just normal. As long as its not melted.

Okay, I looked at the pic again and it looked worse the first time than how it does in this pic but that's probably me just being paranoid. What did strike me as weird was not only THIS bulb was burnt in this way, but also the other bulbs AND the harness connecting piecing.

I haven't checked the left side yet since none of those bulbs have burnt out. By what some of you are saying this is normal? I shouldn't worry until I see black?

Mine actually looked worse. This is normal. The OEM sockets in my F150 and my Expedition look this way. I was surprised, but once I saw it in all my cars I figured it must be normal. It's just from the heat of the bulb when it was burning. Not the result of a short or anything like that. If there was something really wrong the fuse would blow. IMHO
If its melting th plastic, then there could be a problem.

Normal. No worries. Cheaper plastics, brake lights, high temp filaments=browning. If you wanted, flip them upside down so that the less burnt part is the one getting crispy.
The biggest concern is *not* the surrounding piece that hold it up. That little tip end isn't a big deal, it's just gettin' baked, and unless you're going to be playing with it a *lot*, it won't do anything The sides down the way aren't getting baked either, so the light will be aligned just fine.
As long as the contact areas themselves aren't getting crispy crittered, the socket is fine, although I would like to see how that burnt tip looks on the inside, just to see.
/Go check out 95-98 Thunderbird CHMSL sockets. THAT's a fire to happen one day (tm)
